Default Newbie Waiting for First Kahr

Hello from NC. I've been researching Kahr pistols for a couple of years now and am finally "pulling the trigger" on a CM9 on Monday. My Colt LW Commander isn't a pocket carry contender , my Shield 9 is a bit too big for pocket carry, my .LCP is a bit too small for pocket carry (if you get my drift). I've been looking for a true pocket carry 9mm. I'm not bowled over by the current capacity craze -- 6-8 rounds is fine by me. I will be doing a lot of reading here and not much posting unless I have problems that need help from you all. Thanks for letting me in!

Don't know if NC has waiting periods but waiting is the worst. The CM9 should work swell for ya regardless of carry mode. I'm not a pocket carry guy myself but for many it's the way to go.
Don't throw the Colt away, that's a pure fine piece of shooting machinery.
Glad you found us, we'll anxiously await your report when the CM is in hand. Rather doubt you'll be posting much since it should run like a swiss kahr. But feel free to post anyhow.

Thanks for the welcome. I've read a few of the "sticky" posts for new members about prepping and breaking in a new Kahr, and don't mind saying that I'm a bit intimidated. I'm not a home gunsmith. Field stripping, cleaning, lubing, and reassembling pistols from my 1911 to Ruger .380 -- no problem. Any other needed repairs or yearly complete deep-cleaning, etc. -- I take 'em to my gunsmith. I don't do Dremel work, take sandpaper to 'em, modify parts, or generally "tinker" with guns, just carry and shoot them.
Have seen and read about too many pistols (especially 1911s) messed up by "Bubba jobs" done to them.
I hope I'm not getting in over my head with a Kahr.

Don't be intimidated. I have several Kahrs and none needed a fluff and buff to run. Oil it well especially at first, use full power loads for break in, sometimes girlyman loads balk until it's had a few rounds through it, then even the powder puffs should run.
If you do run into issues we'll figure it out, not necessarily me, not the brightest light in the harbor but we got some smart folks here.

Late welcome, but welcome! Congrats on selecting a kahr. As others have put it, you're going to like it with proper lube & break in. Some great guys here if anything goes unplanned. Hope to see more posts than you thought you'd make. We all live a conversation here!

Welcome. Like they said...proper lube and break in and you'll be good to go with just what you have. The Mods you read about here and elsewhere aren't necessary to provide you with a very nice defensive handgun.
The break in you see mentioned was absolutely real with my CM9. Having read about it beforehand...I intentionally ran a test with my mild practice rounds..(modest powder charge and a cast bullet) vs. some full house military fmj's. Function was not reliable initially with the mild loads. AFTER running a couple of boxes of the military rounds...I found function with the mild loads to be just fine and they comprise the overwhelming bulk of rounds I put through that pistol these days without issues.
