Here's my 28 year old collection of them things. It sure has come in handy over the years.

That was my dad’s mess kit issued to him for the Aleutian Campaign (1942-43) and he carried it to the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944 - along with the canteen & trench shovel that are difficult to see in the terrible picture.

I see the canteen now, still looking for the shovel. Very very cool. This is the kind of stuff I love to see and so many don't appreciate. Very cool tribute to your dad.

I wore that hat a few years when I was at the Bonneville Salt Flats. I got Art Arfonses autograph on that hat. He was a land speed record holder for quite awhile. Might also be part of attaching the nick name bawanna to me.

You can also see the Dobbs hat right in front of the trolls that somebody here (wish I could remember) gifted me many years ago. I have a huge head and this thing fits perfectly. I still wear it. Very comfy, very light. Wife I don't think likes it too much but she has no taste in hats I guess.
