    Default What happened to this?

Almost looks like it was burned in when the metal was hot. Could this be done by an owner somehow?

Looks to me like QC was on vacation the day that slide was stamped.

Yeah, it looks like a crayon would if you branded it.

I'd venture to guess that somebody wanted to make the writing more definite and tried engraving or something. The finish doesn't look anything close to factory either. Like the sanded or tried to polish, did the poor logo enhancement and either thought it was good or gave up.

That's certainly possible, I hadn't though about an engraver. Ouch. Oh, and it's supposed to be an elite '03. At least the frame is. Not too sure about the slide.

I was thinking an engraver after I posted but couldn't wrap my head around why anyone would do that. Screwing up a polish job would be somewhat of a reasonable idea, but if you already screwed up the polish job, what are the chances you'd do so much better with an engraver?

Sure hope it wasn't somebody in good standing on this board. If it was then I will amend my remarks that that is one fine job of whatever it is you were trying to do!
