    Default CM9 slide on a CW9 frame

It would look about like this. The end of the CW9 frame would have to be cut and shortened by about 0.48". Could it work?

So long as no burrs left on the rails inside the dust cover area, I don’t see why not. I think the less risky way would be to cut down the grip area of the CW9, as did Old No7, to make a “Covert”. He is currently selling it on this site.

You may want to make sure that the grooves (red arrow) in the slide that line up with the aforementioned rails would not start outside of the rails. If so, upon firing, your hope would be that they would find their way onto those rails. Not too sure about that though!

My concern would be exposing the metal insert on the metal rails. That is a one piece deal imbedded in the polymer. I don't know how far back that would be. If it's even with the exposed rails or goes a bit forward on the bottom.
If when you cut you hit that metal it would be hard to cover up and probably not look great.

^ Yes, that too! Irving, just so you know, I had a similar thought to yours, but it was putting a CT45 slide into a CW45. I posted that idea up here. After what I mentioned to you as a concern, and with others input, such as what Bawanna described, I decided against it. I’m all for modifications and for testing such things out, but there was a little too much that could go wrong for me to continue down that path. But, if it is something you want to do I would love it if you post up your results. It would answer questions that I’m sure a few of us here would appreciate. Good luck to you if you go for it.
