    Default Broken Slide Release

Thought I would share this I don't know what would have caused this. Unusual failure while at the range last week. Called Kahr and after confirming I was the original owner and filling out the warrantee registration page, I have a replacement on the way. Purchased in 2015 and has hundreds if not a thousand rounds through it.

Wow, I've never heard of that breaking before. Looks like it broke at the weakest spot but always figured that part was pretty tough.

I think that’s a MIM part. I had a MIM Sig P228 extractor break similar to that. All of a sudden it wouldn’t extract a spent shell and when I looked close the hook had snapped clean off. It was a police surplus I picked up lightly used.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

So, when did they change the slide stops, mine is the old style. Too my uneducated eye that is an old style, which I thought were not MIM.

I could be wrong. I thought the CW guns had a MIM slide stop but maybe it’s cast. I know it’s different than the P series slide stops that have the rotating pin going through the barrel lug.

You are correct about the new style slide stops. I always assumed that the old style on the K series were not MIM.

my mk9, p9, and pm9 all have the rotating pin, but my k9 looks similar to my cw9 - single, solid part. Don't know if that means it's MIM, but I thought MIM was just for the econo line.

Wow! That is something to see! I’ve bought guns with broken parts, but have never broken any myself. Shot a Sig P938 guide rod down range once, but I think it was a 2 piece, screw in deal if I remember correctly. I bet that was a “Wtf” moment for you!

It was a wtf moment. Luckily I could continue the range session. I just had to sling shot the slide and it didn't lock open. I did get me new one from Kahr so all is well now. BTW...did the same with my P938.
