If that S&W needs adopting put me at the very top of the list. I've been searching since I could'nt make this one happen. Still don't have enough rubbles but I'll find a way to get some.
That gun deserves better than languishing in a dark safe.

Lol! Certainly wouldn’t languish. I was just looking at scandium to see how it looks uncoated, as in bare to polish. It is definitely (as is) a real looker. That and it was my b-day gift. The wife might sour if I turned around and sold it. BUT… maybe time might change such things. I do make a promise to you though that if it is ever going anywhere that you will get a pm. If you haven’t gotten hold of one by then already.

Give me your wife's email, I'll talk to her.

So back in the day, LEO's would tie a wet rawhide string around the grip safety. Made the draw a hair faster. Now some folks pin it. Just saying. They also make grip safeties with a "bump" built in, makes them stick out a bit.

Never heard of the rawhide deal! Yeah, I know what you mean as some of my 1911's have that "memory bump" too.

So glad you're happy with it!
I found a while back I won't carry a single action gun, especially a 1911. I learned to swipe the safety off without issue, but I've always either carried a DA Sig or Kahr style trigger, and I would sometimes fire the SA 1911 trigger prematurely. I just wasnt comfortable enough with the light, short trigger unless I carried one full time to include work.
Enjoy it and maybe you'll pass it on to Colonel!!
