Ahh yes, the age old Caliber Wars debate
Years ago, long before FBI Protocol Testing and High Tech bullets, the campfire talks raged.
There may have been adult beverages involved...
Back then, for you younger folks, there were no 40 S&W or 357 Sig guns.
And revolvers had not yet been mostly abandoned...
1) Many arguments revolved around fast light vs slow heavy rounds.
2) It seemed that most studies appeared to lean towards the 125 gr 357 Magnum
as king of the "One Shot Stop".
3) 9mm and 45 ACP centered around most discussions.
My personal friends, also fellow Black Belts, felt (like the FBI later did) that 9mm just wasn't good enough.
And required multiple hits to be effective (Two in the chest, one in the head).
45 ACP 230 gr Federal Hydra-Shok was considered by many to be Best of the Best.
Being a Black Sheep all my life, my solution to the "Fast Light vs Slow Heavy" problem?
The "Fast Heavy" 44 Magnum 240 gr Federal Hydra-Shok
Another friend carried 9mm and asked what the difference was with my 44 Mag?
Told him to fill two 1 gallon milk jugs with water, shoot them and find out.
The 9mm punched a small hole in the jug and it urinated in the ditch.
The 44 caused the jug to explode, jump in the air and spray water on all of us!
I mentioned that people are about 60% water.
What do you think that would have done to you?
There were no more questions...
