Almost all our ice has melted. My treeguy is coming by Tuesday to clean up the mess. Arborists are gonna be busy in the Austin area for a couple of weeks…

What kind of trees are those? The look a little bit like live oak or pecan but I see they still have leaves.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Live Oaks. About 30 years old.
Had them pruned during the holidays, otherwise the damage would have been worse.

I thought they were live oaks. I lived on the gulf coast about 20 years ago and they were everywhere. Beautiful when they get really big and old (as in a few hundred years old.) My kids loved to climb on them.

A preacher gave a sermon one Sunday about being ready to meet the Lord because it can happen at any time and you had better be ready, he told the story of his grandfather who was a Biblical man who loved God who went to sleep one night and never woke up…….After the service on her way out a lady said to him, that was a beautiful sermon and I hope that I can pass away and enter heaven as peacefully as your grandfather did……The preacher said, it is a wonderful story and it would be perfect except for the three other poor bastards who were riding in the car with him and died screaming in horror as they went over that cliff………….
