I am addicted to brake fluid...don't worry I can STOP at anytime!
My mom's philosophy was, "Let it air out." She wasn't into smearing crap on wounds. Maybe a bandaid, but no neosporin, mercurochrome, or other weird chemicals.

I used several cans of this back in my fence building days. Between cement and galvanized wire my hands took a beating. Didn't like wearing gloves much.
Probably told a good Bag Balm story from back in the day, I'll come back and share that in a bit again, still cracks me up.

We were poor, but tough. My folks couldn't afford none of those store bought cures, so if we had any cuts that didn't require a tourniquet, Pappy would pull out some of his plug tobacky, insert it into the gaping wound, then pack it with dirt. Somehow, we managed to survive with the major extremities. Well, except for Little Hoss, but he was always sickly since my folks found him out in the cabbage patch.
