    Default .429 Desert Eagle Questions

My Sister just bought a .429AE Desert Eagle. Where is a good place to find ammo on line that is trustworthy? No gun stores around her stock it. Also can the .429AE be changed to another caliber by changing the barrel and magazine? Any help very appreciated!

    50AE, 440 COR-BON, 44 MAG, all by changing barrel & appropriate magazine

Personally I would only buy a .429 DE if I reloaded my own ammo, which I do. For general fun with a DE I would choose a 44 mag if I didn't reload. 44 mag is the most cost effective way to shoot a big bore semi-auto if you don't reload.

If I owned a full sized DE I would hang onto the 429 DE barrel as it will probably be worth a fair bit someday like the 440 Corbon barrels are now. If I owned a full sized DE I would probably add a 10" 429 DE barrel even if I didn't plan to shoot it much.

I own a L5 5" barrel DE for which a .429 DE barrel isn't available. I shoot mostly 50 ae since they only cost me ~30% more to reload than 44 mag (bigger bullets, more powder and recycled brass). If I didn't reload I would stick with 44 mag which most stores will carry and is considerably cheaper than 50 ae.
