Nice. Let us know how it shoots. I have limited.308 experience, only having two .308 rifles. My most noteworthy is a S&W M&P 10 that loves heavier bullets, but lighter ones not as much and groups open up some. It loves “Australian Outback 165GR gameking” rounds and will stack them in one hole at 100 yards. I bought a whole bunch at $10 a box back in 2015, it’s up to $25 a box now.
Ive heard that some of the Rugers do real well even with some of the generic .308 ammo.
One thing I learned the painful way was to make sure on a .308 that the adjustable stock is locked good before shooting. I actually removed the adjustable stock and added an A2 stock.

The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Dang! That hurted! Honestly never shot a 308. I’ve got my dad’s old 270 and wonder how much of a difference they would be. 38 vs 357 difference? I’d love to try one, but doubt I’d ever get one. Have gotten bitten by the “consolidating calibers” thing. Got too much ammo and too much of the same caliber in long guns (all 9mm’s and 223/556/Wylde stuff) other than pop’s old gun.
My nephew shot the 270 before I owned it and ended up with a cut like yours, along with a black eye, so I first shot it with trepidation. After a few rounds though I realized it’s not too much of a kicker. Definitely more than the 223/556 though.
Nice score Jeep! I read about your gun in American Rifleman. Looked to be a sweet one!
Well heck, I was sitting so long in anticipation I dozed off there and missed the unveiling. You done good son, guess the search is still on for another 22? Break out the green paint.

Made it out range. I am very happy with results. After bore sighting this is shots 3,4 and 5 at 100 yards at Ahlman's range. First 2 shots were off the paper. One hangup on mag lips.

Not too shabby there Jeep! More so for a new to you gun. How’s the trigger?
Very good trigger! The only changes I've done is extended mag release and ambi safety, needs nothing else.
