    Wow! that brings back a old memory when I was a kid. My fist mistake. Had a Buck being chased by dogs and headed right for me. I starred that it for a few seconds then went to reach for my shotgun. Dang that sucker saw me, bolted off to the left into extremely thick brush. While he was in the Brush, I ran ahead and cut him off coming out. Nailed him at that point.

    Another memory. We were hunting that morning. My brother had already taken a nice buck. Later we had lunch on a old logging road. I feel asleep and started snoring. Well this caused a Buck to come out thinking it was a deer grunting. I was quickly awoken at the sound of a gun shot. "My brother came over said that the Buck was just a few feet from you and staring at you. I had to wait the longest time before he moved away and take him down."

    And in all these years they haven't learned much. Still as likely to bolt in front of a car as to wait for it to pass.
