A big DITTO and Semper Fi! My experience with Marines started in October or November 1964 when I started a whole year of Arabic Language training at the Defense Language Institute, West Coast, in Monterey, CA... an Army-run post! My cube-mate was a 6-ft 6-inch+ Marine PFC and one of our squad leaders was a Marine Corporal who had dated my cousine in South Carolina. Marines are the guys we look to for getting the job done and protecting the rest of us "semi-combatants".

I know that I was sure glad to have them between us and the VC and NVA at Danang and Cam Ranh Bay in '67 and '68 while I was vacationing over there during the SEA War Games.

    Happy Birthday, indeed!

I watched the first two parts and have the others scheduled to be recorded.

Excellent stuff. Most of the video is new to me and I've watched quite a bit of military history. It's being shown as a Veteran's Day special. Well worth seeing so far.

    Default Ty&hb!

How does one say thank you to a group of individuals who've given so much for so many for so long?? There's no way for me to do so properly. But I'll try anyway. I thank you all and wish all of you who are serving or who have served a happy birthday!

A very big THANK YOU in deed, my dad who passed away in May was in "the corp" in the 1960s. A Marine to the end! Where would our nation be without these folks?
