Default M1 Thompson light weight.

Finally purchased a Thompson lightweight. Always wanted one, but wow, went through roughly 300rds and the spring and pilot pin snapped in half. Auto-Ordnance did send out new parts. Since i work in a machine shop, i decided to make the parts myself, made the pilot pin out of a softer metal, just hardend the tip of the pin. This is a firearm that i wish i never bought, pure junk. 900$ spend and breaks after 300rds. But here is what i did, hopefully it works. I also gonna find a replacement spring, don't wanna us the A/O one they sent. I will never recommend one of these things to anyone.

Im weary of the aluminum ones, and always opt to spend more for the steel ones myself. That said mines sent 9500 rounds down range with 1 hiccup to date caused by a bad drum mag.

Oh, the horror stories I've heard about the aluminum versions....wait 'til you get the cracked receiver from all that live-fire hammering....
