If the CM9/PM9 is a proven commodity in your household, why not get another? That way, you two have the same pistol and can share mags, perhaps holsters, etc.
Personally, I was not impressed with the BU9 even though I really wanted to like it when I first read about it.. However, it has a horrible trigger and I thought the recoil was a little more pronounced with it compared to the CM9 (I shot them side-by-side before deciding on the CM9).
Good luck with your decision but from what you've said and what's been posted here, I think it should be an easy decision.

I am going to pile on as well. The PM/CM/MK are the best pocket pistols out there IMO. I looked at all of them and shot most of them before I went with a Kahr. Kahr is far superior to Diamondback, and while some like the LC9, I hated the trigger. The Shield was not out when I bought my Kahr, and I have not shot one, but looking at size/weight comparisons as well as the M&P's manual safety would not have changed my purchase decision.
Put it this way...my Dad once bought a Vette and loved it. Problem was so did my Mom. So, like any reasonable person would do he solved the problem by buying another Vette, just a different color. Variety is the spice of life!

The question is not do you need another, but how many can you get?
If you've found something that works, that you really like, no reason to NOT buy more than one. I plan on owning mutiple P9s before it's all said and done. Parts can interchange if push comes to shove, same ammo, once you've found a reliable choice works in both, etc. Having common battery-of-arms, common ammo, common parts is never a bad thing and on the contrary is something I prefer. I might have a couple of calibers, but w/in those, I will stick to pretty much the same guns, or a most, same guns of same brand where some/all parts are in common (P9, TP9, PM9).

Ditto...I follow this approach on all long guns that I fear may be banned one day. Also in worst case scenarios, having commonality could mean keeping something running that fails. It gives you a single type of magazine as well, so you can swap freely.

I'm one for having multiples of what works. Mostly...
The wife got a CW9.. I liked it so I got a K9 (I prefer metal to polymer but love the size).. the wife touched my K9 and decided she LOVED it.. I got her a K9.
I got a Ruger SP101 in 357... first trip to the range and the wife comes home and says I want one... now we have two in the house and I think I may need to purchase another GP100 because she likes that one too... in fact that one is among her favorite but it is a bit large for her to carry... maybe I can find a 3" version or heck I can have one fixed right up.
She finally mentioned she wanted to shoot the 12 guage... first time on the range and she shoots up a full box herself... she smiled for a week... modify one with a pistol grip and she has to try it out.. also had some mini shells to play with.. she can handle the target 2 3/4" loads but loves the little mini shells when she can make em run.. so far she says we don't need a third 12guage... so far. Even the son and I do not want to mess with anything over the 2 3/4" target loads with the pistol grip.

I would get a P380 or else a j frame revolver. I love the small size of the .380, and if you get one like mine that works well there is never an excuse not to carry it. J frame..well everyone should have one. Your wife may also prefer either of these guns and give you the CM9!

I have two identical CM9s and my wife doesn't carry. I just bought a P380 today. My next purchase is likely to be a PM45. I stick with what works. In the past 12 months, I have OWNED 3 M&P9c, M&P45c, BG380, LC9, PF-9 and Kahrs. I have kept one M&P and traded all the others trying to zero in on what works for me. That's a lot of trading, but when I found the CM9, it was obvious for me. Finding what works if the hard part, and you have already done it.

Speaking as an owner of a P380, a PM9, AND a PM45...run, do not walk, to your LGS and get that PM45!
If you like and appreciate Kahr pistols and their manual of arms, the PM45 is a sweet shooter and pretty easy to conceal. Heck, it's smaller than some of the "compact 9's" on the market. It makes the big boom with the fat bullet, but the recoil is not bad.
I smile every time I shoot it. The PM45 is a sweetheart, and my favorite Kahr (so far).
