I carry my K9 in a Galco IWB holster everyday. Not too heavy, conceals well, and feels right.

I carry my MK40 Elite on a belt all the time.
It's hardly noticeable.
I originally bought it as a pocket gun, but rarely carry it that way.
If Cher and I really could turn back time,
I would rather have gotten the larger K40 Elite.

And a T40 may still be in the cards...

Twenty three oz is only heavy compared to a polymer .380. Compared to a K-frame revolver it is a featherweight. Many undercover cops carried snub model 10 S&W revolvers for years; they weighed 32 not 23 oz!

My K9 is a great addition to my CC rotation. I carry IWB using a Tucker holster without any weight issues. Carry away...

Most of the time I carry a gun in a pocket holster in my right back jeans pocket. The whole "lighter is better" is not for me.

I love carrying my K9 in a DeSantis mini slide belt holster.
If for some reason I need to carry smaller/lighter I switch to the PM9 in the same holster.

Hold on there. My black beauty is plenty pretty since about 1995 or 6.
I carry it IWB every day. Wish they would have passed the CC in restaurants in NC. Then, I would be able to carry it just about everywhere.
Maybe next year.

k9 happens to be my favorite model, the weight boils down your preference...its actually not that bad. If you have larger hands you will find the grip to be a beautiful thing. It does react a bit differently than the polymer frames but either way its a great piece. If you have fte's consistently they had a time when the slides werent cut right and many of them left that way and were not caught....it it does get that issue they should be able to fix it on first try since they are aware of it. Other than that as long as you dont handrack it and follow instruction you will do just fine....also keep in mind its stainless steel however that should actually be termed stained resistant....always keep it lightly coated with oil and especially the side that touched your skin. By no means have it oiled and lay it down against a cardboard box, some cardboard contains tanic acid and when it gets wet it can actually stain the slide.
