Problem with new CM9....
Hey guys,
I've got a CM9 with about 900 rounds through it, but have a problem with the accuracy (I think it’s a problem with the gun, and not me).... When both at the range and dry firing, when pulling the trigger the whole slide rises away from the frame and as soon as the trigger brakes the slide drops back down. This not only changes the sight picture, but I can see the barrel also moving when the slide drops back down....
Does anyone else have this problem with their CM / PM series gun? Is this a problem I should call Kahr about / have fixed?
My brother also has a cm9, and his does the same thing, but not as bad / much as mine does. I've owned about 7 different auto pistols over the years, and have never seen a gun do this before.
Thanks for the help guys!

I have a CW9 and a CM9. Mine also does this.
Although I only notice it when dry firing. I would think when loaded with ammo and the bullet stack is pushing up, you shouldn't notice it.
I think what you are seeing is the cocking cam coming up and contacting the striker, and as it is pulled through its arch it gets higher and any slop in the slide/frame is pushed up. When the striker is released, the slide falls back down.
I can't say it is desirable, but I think you will find that it is normal for these guns.

I've noticed this as well. It is less noticeable when an empty mag is in.

what ur seeing is normal, really accuracy wise, no big difference, it is what it is..
with a full mag in it, what u are seeing is the pressure from the loaded magazine and the rounds actually pushing up on the bottom of the slide interface bar..

Slide interface bar??? Are you going all technical or making terms up now?? I called that the "stripper"... leading edge strips off a round as the slide moves back into battery.

nope read that on a few guns forum . I have no idea why it is called the interface bar, stripper bar seems more sensible. Some smittys have called it that also, so I just stayed with it. As u know I am very "technical"!!!!!

You really got my attention when you talked about a "stripper bar" I thought this thread was going to take a turn down another path.

Any pictures of this stripper bar floating around. Ya know a picture is worth 23 words or something like that.

Be careful what you ask for in Pictures. Someone posted a picture of Oprah. I think it was Jeepster.
