Default CW9 JHP ammo

I bought a CW9 with the intent to carry it. I have put 200 fmj throught it with no problems. I did it in two 100 round sessions, cleaning the pistol before each range trip.

After I went to run some 124g Gold dots through it and had some FTF.

I am going to run a couple more hundred of FMJ through it to break it in some more, but are there certain JHP ammo that run in a CW9 better than others?

Was any of the range ammo 124 gr? Should we assume ALL ammo is standard pressure?

IMHO, any gun which won't shoot GD 124 has an issue worth checking at the manufacturer.

First trip to the range with my CW9 I fired 100 rounds of Blazer 115 FMJ and a box of Gold Dot 124 JHP +P Short Barrel without a hitch. I've since fired about 1000 rounds of mixed cheap Rem and Win FMJ and JHP from Walmart with 100% reliaability.

I wish I could say the same for my Colt Series 70 45ACP.

When I first got my CW9 i did some research into JHP rounds and I found (on more than one site) that the gold dots in anything above 115 have an interference problem sometimes in the CW9.

I run 124 gr. Gold Dots as my EDC load with no issues. Find the round that works well in your gun and shoot it like you stole it. There are a lot of good self defense rounds available.

+P rounds can be used but are not recommended for regular use.

That being said, you'll notice the majority of responders have no issues with the 124gr JHP.

Just find the ones that your particular pistol likes the best.

I practice with WWB 115gr FMJ, 124gr FMJ and 147gr JHP/FMJ.

About once a month I'll run a mag of Remington 124gr +P JHP just to be sure what I carry will still run without issues.

The gold dots where standard pressure. I don't think I am going to shoot any +P through this gun. I am sure the pistol can take it, but I think a standard pressure, top quality JHP will be good enough.

I am going to pick up a variety of other JHP and run em through, find something that works etc.... As long as it is a top quality JHP, I have no preference to brand.

, if a kahr won't shoot 124 grain ammo then something is wrong with the gun. Kahr tests their guns with 124 grain ammo, not sure what brand or if it is even hp ammo but kahrs have never been labeled as "ammo sensitive". as they just are not many times one negative post seems to make it to every gun forum to. remember one can post anything he wants and some tend to think it is gospel to.

Depends on the particular gun. They may all look the same, but that's not always the case. I've had pistols in the past, not Kahrs, that didn't like GD's. Find a good round that is 100% in your gun and use it. I'm partial to HST's and bonded Rangers myself, but I've found the Golden Sabers will usually feed in any gun.
