Ok, I can't find the Kahr picture thread where all this started. Somebody fess up, what did you do with it.
At any rate although I got a heck of a bad cold/flu thing going on I couldn't let my initial but not 100% PM45 stippling job alone so I just went out and approached it for a second attempt.
I took a flat type wood burner blade and basically flattened the front and back strap so I had a uniform surface to start with. Then just carried on with the stippling in those areas. I was so pleased that I went with a wrap around stippling pattern and unplugged and cooled down before I started looking for other victims. Some time ya gotta know when to fold em ya know......
Pictures of course. Idea's, recommendations or gentle criticism welcome.

Yeah, Boss, I have a question?
In addition to custom wood grips, you wanna start a side business doing stippling? I'm interested.

You know this is something that might actually pay. The biggest issue with this stippling is building up the nerve to attack your favorite expensive toy with a wood burning tool. I'm over that.
It's fast. I don't have half an hour into the whole deal and now that I see the result and how to get there it would be faster next time.
I love wood and I'll always mess with wood (although I'm dabbling a tiny bit in Micarta now) but regardless of the monetary contribution (Kahrtalk folks are very generous though) I can't make them fast enough or charge enough to actually do a profit. So I have to keep my day job. Admittedly I never tried but I don't see it happening.
Course if I messed one up warranting a new frame that would kill the profit for about 3 years too I reckon. That's why I'm not into money. Guns are a lot less grief.

Very nice job, Bawanna, but won't that be a little rough on your hands? I can send you some cactus if you are really into pain! Just ask my dogs!

Glad you hooked me up, makes me even more prouder of myself, if my arms were longer I'd be patting myself on the back. Those in the initial post make me ashamed. Much much more better now.
I'll see if I can get my follow up post there moved. I know I can if I can just remember how.
Thanks

$50 Lesson
I recently asked my neighbors' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President someday. Both of her parents...liberal Democrats...were standing there so I asked her: "If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?"
She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."
Her parents beamed with pride.
"Wow...what a worthy goal." I told her, "But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that! You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house."
She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"
I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."
Her parents still aren't speaking to me.
