8 round mag question
Has any one had any success with the 8 round magazine in the CM9/PM9 pistol? It seams the 7 rounder is a hit or miss with it's reliability.
Thank you.

Just ordered two from Cheaper than Dirt. I'll post back results once they arrive and I get a chance to test them.

My two 8 rounders cam ein this week. I put 50 rounds through one of them today (loaded to capacity each time except the last) with no issues. I'll repost after my next excursion.

I have 6 or 7 of those and keep my K9 loaded with them for home defense, and I carry those as reloads for my PM9. I've had NO problems with the K920G's at all... great for the range or reloads for carry.

I also keep an 8 round magazine in my CM9 for home defense duty. Never an issue, although I did the follower mod on it just to be sure.

Those are definitely good magazines... reliable... if you make sure they work.

Exactly what did you do in the follower mod? Can you explain how or what this consists of?

The springs on the 8-round 9mm mags are about twice the length of the tubes. I think that's their secret. I don't know that the followers "need" any help. I usually take all of my new mags apart and check for burrs on the feed lips and the followers... and the slot for the mag release/detent/holder. I push a combo of paper towel/rags through the tube to remove any crud and then wet my fingers with oil and rub it over the springs... and perhaps a bit on the sides of the followers. The followers don't really need any modification... on the 8-rounders, because of the long springs.

Due to the long springs, loading the 8th round is a *****.
