There is a pretty good video. "Kicks like 10 30-06's."

Either someone got some numbers wrong or that is not the largest caliber rifle.

That appears to be a .950 JDJ.

WOW and I thought my Mossin Nagants recoil was a bit stout.

Wouldn't you have sort of a hint if all your buddies were standing around giggling and snickering as you got ready? I don't know if you could brace yourself enough for that thing.

My mom always said if it hurts, stop doing it stupid.

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
--Thomas Jefferson (1764).

TRF I looked up a youtube video for the .950, and it showed the same rifle, and some of the same footage that was in the video for the .905. Not sure what's up with that. I think someone must have transposed the .950 for .905 or vice versa. Either way I still don't wanna shoot it.

I'd rather shoot that one instead of this one.

Oh I dunno the .577 T-Rex apparently is capable of propelling a 750 grain projectile to 2460 fps generating some 10,180 ft lbs at the muzzle and the .950 JDJ is capable of propelling a 3600 grain projectile to 2200 fps generating some 38,685 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle. (published data)

I would imagine the difference in the videos is the effectiveness of the muzzle brake. That and the .950 rounds were downloaded a bit I believe.

I believe the .577 T-Rex was developed for some serious work the .950 JDJ more or less was just an exercise in the absurdity (just wanted to see how big he could go).

I suppose if you wante to go dump truck hunting or maybe Graboid Hunting that .950 would make sense.
