Winchestr Ranger Talon
Well, I just made my first purchase using GunPal. I bought 5 boxes of 50 rounds of Winchester RA380T -- the Talon ammo -- from Patriot Arms for $34 a box of 50 and he still has most calibers.

.380 Auto RA380T 95 grain 50 $34.00
.45 ACP RA45TP 230 grain +P 50 $32.00
My 5 boxes came to $170 + $15.83 shipping + 3.5% fee for GunPal $6.50 = $192.33
He doesn't take CC or PayPal. So GunPal was the quickest way. He's quick with replies... BB PDA. Another "toy" I wouldn't mind having, but can't justify the monthly cost. I wouldn't use it enough to be worthwhile.
I look forward to trying the Talon.

When will you be using this... interested in a range report. Thanks for the lead on this Wynn. Have you used Talon in your PM45 yet?

No, and the other day when I shot my P380, the slide was locking back with ammo left, so I have to investigate that.
This should be a decent ammo without having to go full +P for performance. The BB has quite a kick and I anticipate the recoil with the first mag. The BB cost me at least $1 a pop plus shipping. i hope this Talon works well.
I just need to see what's going on with the slide lock... it ain't me touching it. I don't get near that thing when shooting. I think it's the dynamics of the firing/ejecting and some bullets getting kicked down on the nose far enough to trigger the slide lock. It's not just one per magazine, though. It's easily cleared by racking the slide, but that's definitely troubling for CCW.
There's a gun show at the Fairgrounds up here this weekend, but the good one is at the Morocco Temple in June. I would like to see one a month at least! I'll do my walk-about ammo selling, or trying anyhow.
On the .380 Ranger Talon, I just ordered and paid for that so I don't expect it for a week... first order with this guy.

No. I couldn't get the non +P at the time and I went with the Bonded Golden Sabers. Supposedly the only thing wrong with GS was the penetration under certain circumstances and the Bonded version should improve that. I don't think that I need +P with the 230-grain SD ammo. It's stouter than the FMJ target fodder.
I still need to do a range report on Wednesday's trip. Had troubles with both the P380 and the PM45. The P380 was locking open for no reason that I could see at the range. I don't get near the lever when shooting. And the PM45 was either having a bunch of light strikes or the new ammo has strong primers. I still have to clean and check out both guns, but have been busy with Wifey and working around the house and yard.
My reading... all of it, has taken a big hit with the time I sit here mesmerized by the screen and this forum.

I have about 1300 rounds through my PM45 and noticed that it likes to run wet so I use about 30-50% more lube (in my case Mil-comm TW25B) than in my Glocks. Also if you are getting some slide lock backs after 25 or so rounds maybe it is a limp wrist issue. I suspect that with myself when I get a slide lock issue. I have read some issues/problems with the Talon ammo for PM45.
Kahr just replaced my polymer lower on my PM45 - they mentioned a small crack by the trigger pivot pin retaining pin. So I need to mate/break it in like a new gun.

No, the PM45 was having light strikes or the ammo primers were too hard. In any case, after Wifey goes to work, I'll clean off the table and get ready to strip down the slide and check the striker parts. Maybe it has burrs and just needs touching up with my DLT. I can't wait to see if I lose parts or have parts left over. I've been pretty good about not losing stuff, but I have had parts left over on things in the past.
I hope that I find something obvious to "fix" and get it back into service. I carried the stepchild (PM9) yesterday, 'cause I think it's reliable.

Well now I'm holding off on the buy button until you find something and the cracked frame story, I feel like the cable in a truck pull contest. I'm horribly stretched in both directions.
Gonna hold out till after the gun show this weekend, if history repeats itself I won't see anything that blows my dress up when I have money. Wierd how that seems to work. No money there would be a truck load of must have stuff.

Wynn,
I've bought Ranger from Alan recently as well. Very smooth transaction
and ironically my first GunPal purchase as well.
There's another fellow named Jerry Kirkpatrick on GlockTalk that sells Ranger-T. I've been buying from him for years. Another great guy and good source for
Rangers in all calibers.
I've been carrying Ranger 127gr +p+ in all my Glock 9's exclusively for about 5 years now. That load is probably pushing it for the PM9 although I've shot it and its quite manageable. Right now I'm leaning towards the 147gr HST as a carry load for the PM9 but I still need to function fire before making a final decision.

This sale with Alan has been quick. The day I made the GunPal purchase he emailed me that he had shipped the order, gave me a tracking number saying delivery was scheduled for Tuesday. It's in town this morning, meaning I should get it Monday... pretty quick!
I saw the Winchester Talon at this gun show for prices comparable to Alan's, except for the .380. That was priced at $40+tax vs. $34+shipping. I got 5 boxes from Alan for $192 and some change shipped to my door. It would have cost me $214 at the show. But I couldn't count on it being at the show, either.
I might have tried that Talon 9mm +P, but I've switched to Double Tap GD 124gr+P and Speer GD124gr +P Short Barrel, which seem to be comparable.
I'm trying to resell my excess Corbon, Remington GS, and Federal HS because it's too valuable for target fodder.
I just try to get a decent quantity of the best ammo I can that's available at the time for a decent price. Doing this for three calibers gets expensive!
