Browning has released an 85% version of the 1911 chambered in 22LR. they ere also coming out with an 85% version of the 1911 Commander also in 22LR. Has anybody seen/handled/fired either one of these yet and what did you think?

sounds interesting, wonder what the price is, 85% version problaby has to be a blow back model in a 22 but no matter,

oops found some info. $599 msrp. all aluminum machned slide, a few polymer internal parts but for the most part all owners A(few so far) stated great results and good accuracy. Definitely a blow back model. One reader boughtone for $539..

I saw one made by Sig which is the same size and it felt really good....I hear the Sig branded one is made by another company and may not be as good as the Browning but also costs less...I have a magazine at home that did an article on the Browning and they said it was a nice little gun...It is a straight blow back design with aluminum frame and slide and a 10 round stagered magazine...

I thought about getting the Sig but have decided to go with a Ruger 22/45 which is tried and true and costs about the same...

GB Greg has one. Said it was a keeper. He even posted a video of shooting it. Do a search for it, it's a great video.

I saw one on the shelf last week in the local gun store - I think it was $599 !! A little pricey for an aluminum 22 blowback. That's the bad part - the good part is it made you want it just looking at it! It looked like a lot of fun to play with and just the right size! I have an old 380 govt and it feels so good in your hand (also about as accurate as throwing rocks) but who cares it feels good!

I put it on my wish list but with full size 22 / 1911's selling for around $300 and I also have a 22 slide kit for my 1911's it will probably never get bought.

But it looked great and felt wonderful!

I'd love to have one, but not at that price.
