Finally picked up my new K9 today. Did the prep and lube (thanks Jocko!), and now she's ready to go to the range tomorrow for break in. I've got 200rds WWB FMJ, 50rds Blazer FMJ and 100rds UMC JHP all 115gr. We'll see if I get tired before the gun does. I'll be back to update with a range report and hopefully some decent looking targets tomorrow. Here's a picture of the new K9:

Just got back from the range, and I'm very pleased with the gun. I fired 225rds without any real problems for break in.

In 3 instances (all with Winchester WB) the slide was a hair short of returning to battery (I could see the back of the slide was not 100% flush with the frame) and it caused what I believe was a light strike on the primer. There was a small mark, but much lighter than that found on the primers of successfully fired cartridges. All 3 occured within the first 50 or 60rds and as the parts broke in I imagine it worked itself out because I did not have any other problems. I was also able to chamber rounds using either the slide stop or the "sling shot" method without any problem. I like this gun and it shoots pretty good too.

Here's a target shot offhand from 7 meters (25 feet).

That's good shooting. Glad the gun is all you expected. Looks like you've mastered the Kahr trigger.

Thanks. The trigger is nice and smooth, makes it a pleasure to shoot!

Congrats on your K9.

Any comments on recoil compared to other revolvers or pistols you've fired such as S&W .380, CW9, LCP, or LC9, or other?

Can't say much about those as I've never shot any of them. Most of my shooting experience has been with larger service type autos. I shot my CZ 75D PCR back-to-back with the Kahr and I'd say the recoil is about the same on both. And the CZ is a much larger pistol in your hand. Also keep in mind the CZ has a metal frame, I think it shoots much better with less recoil than a fullsize polymer-framed gun like the FNP-9. Hope that helps some.

That's very helpful.
My current ccw is a CZ 75B 9mm, and I'm in the process of buying a Kahr K9. So, I was glad to get your reply.

Awesome! Congrats! Hopefully I can find a second hand K9 that's police owned that way I know it's well taken care of..
