Why not, huh?

I've blown more money on more stupid things than a few pretty guns. :o

Beautiful pistols! You can sure do worse things with your money. I kiss $10K good bye tomorrow... new roof... bringing the total for the last week or so to over $20K! New paint on the house and a new washer... among other things... BROKE now!l

Got a wild hair a while back for matching .45 ACP and 9mm Combat Commanders. :o

I admit I'm a bit of a "pimp gunner"myself. My two alternating CCWs are a mirror polished K40 and an equally mirror polished Rossie 462 6=shot Jframed .357. Both started out in matte finish. It's notable that handgun defense master Jeff Cooper carried a GOLD plated Colt Commander w/ polished pewter grips on it. He had NO shame in this.... http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg521/scaled.php?server=521&filename=001mrk.jpg&res=landing

I've sent the IRS just a bit over $4000 thus far this year, and still have to send them a few more dollars. I'm pretty sure I could have used that money much better than the gov't would!

Beautiful handguns!

I like the grips on the Rossie. I have the blued 38 with the three inch barrel and I carry it some days. The pachmire grips are to only thing I have found for the Rossie other than stock. Are those Houge?

ScottSouth66
04-24-2012, 11:31 PM
Yes,they are actually Hogues for a S&W J frame that I had to Dremel a tad off the butt of the frame to fit,but now I can select from a plethora of Smithy models to install. The Rossie has a goofy chunk of superfluous material on the lower heel of the frame that really limits your grip choices. It came w/ a Hogue-ish grip that fit the hand well, but were too thick for CCW pocket carry. My next selection will be Hogue rosewood boot grips,,,,

All of those are very nice. Ever since I saw the move "Last Man Standing" I've wanted a matching pair of 1911's, only one left handed and the other right handed. I do have a CW40 and CW45 that look pretty good together, from a short distance you can't tell they are different calibers.

Very nice looking pistols gentilemen. Makes a fan of 1911's drule. As much as I love full size 1911's in 45caliber, I came across another pistol in 9mm that really knocks my shocks off. The CZ75b is without a doubt one of the best pistols I've ever had in my hand next to the 1911 of course.

Good call Popeye! I like the CZ75 myself. I hope to add the single action version to my collection someday, but for now, I have a 75B and a Kadet kit:

Nice PPK.
As to the Glock, I know you're kidding but to repeat an often repeated mantra: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Then to some the beauty lies in the function of the thing.

Here's the one that does it for me on both counts:):

Oh man you guys are killing me with these beautiful guns.

Greg those CZ's are very rapidly becoming one of my favorite pistols of all time. I've really been wanting one of those PO-1's. My buddy has one and everytime I get near that thing I have to hang on to my credit card with both hands. I never owned a pistol steel or poly that chambers the round into the chamber as effortlessly as those CZ 75 series pistols do. I also shoot that 75b better then any pistol I own or have ever owned. That gun to me when it's in my hand it feels like a natural extension of my arm.

The checkering on those is almost invisible huh? Grain and color shows through perfect.

That's a beautiful gun, don't give it an inferiority complex saying it ain't much to look at. Positive reinforcement ya know. Behave and shoot straight or I'm buying a Colt.

This is a collector's item, A Dan Wesson Pistol Pack, with 8", 6", 4", and 2.5" barrels. The former owner said he had never shot it, and I believe the original owner must have shot it very little. I've not shot it either. A wonderful example of the products produced by the original Dan Wesson Company in Monson, Mass.

I had that same exact pistol pack once upon a time. I regret trading it every single day. Traded for a 03-A3 custom match rifle. Still have it and love it but sure would like to still have the Dan Wesson.

20/20 hindsight.

Pretty is as pretty does. Pretty to me is one ragged hole in the center of the target at 25 feet with no malfunctions. I've always been more concerned with how a woman or a gun takes care of me than I am about cosmetics. Having said that, I don't abuse them either.

Bawanna, the Kimber is an excellent shooter, quite accurate. No malfinctions so far. I'm really pleased with it. Also really pleased with the trade I made to get it. One of these days I'd like to send to to Robar and get it treated with Roguard or NP3, or else get a new slide for it with the internal ejector. I think a new stainless steel slide on it would really make it a nice looking gun.

I agree with the CZs. It is one sweet shooter and the Polished Stainless 75B is the next gun on my very long list. According to my FFL and to CZ, they should be available the end of May.

If a gun's not pretty we need to make it that way. Now let's define "Pretty"

Pretty:
1. Looks really nice and you would be willing to take it home to mother.
or
2. Well, she may not look "show off" good but she is functional and knows how to perform. Your friends would know why you picked her too....

There is an innate beauty in form, function and performance.

She might be a little to blingy for my taste, but I can see how some would like that finish. Sights might be a little hard to pick up a a sunny day. Know matter what finish is on the CZ it's still gonna shoot reliably and accurately. I'm always amazed by how much they cost and how well the parts of a CZ pistol fit each other for that amount. Great QC. If I buy another CZ it will more than likely be the PO-1. I really like that pistol. All my future 9mm buys though and on what stays in my possession and what goes will depend on how I like the XD slim 9mm when it comes out. Lately though I've been on a rifle kick, and Harley riding, and in no hurry to do anything as far as future pistol purchases. Life is good.:D

Those are all some beautiful guns. Especially that little Colt revolver! They just don't do blueing like they used to! Very nice!

Auto-Ordnance was selling their 1911PG which had that very nice blueing. I scored one before they were all gone. I need to get a pic up!
