PM9 Rail Issue

After a visit to the range the other day, I took down my pistol for cleaning and noticed a chip along the edge of the front rail that's built into the polymer. Two questions: Anyone ever seen this before and what caused it?

Thanks Brother, I too read the manual and missed that tidbit. What is driving me crazy is that I've owned this thing for a while and cleaned it a few of times but this last time was the first time I noticed it. :facepalm:
