Does anyone have both of these pistols or have any experience with both of these pistols pertaining to whether they will fit a same holster or not. They look and feel about the same. I have been given the option to carry a Kimber just to try it out but it comes without a holster. I wouldn't mind picking up a holster but I hope to get a 1911 Ultra sometime in the future and it would be better to pick something up I knew fit that. For the most part I'm looking at one of the more affordable hybrid holsters because that has worked out nicely for me with my cm9.

Thanks!

Back to the top, I still have this itch.

I don't suppose a report from someone who owns only *one* of those two would help you, would it?

I have a Kimber Ultra CDP II that I occasionally carry in an inexpensive Galco Stow-n-Go IWB holster at 10 o'clock. Works well for me. No idea of how the Sig would fit.

These are not the same pistols but I bought a Mitch Rosen holster from Kahr when I bought my CW45 a nice IBW holster. It fit the CW45 very well after break in I now carry my Colt Defender 45 in the same holster both guns fit well and are secure I hardly realize its at 3:00 on my side every day it is a very nice secure functional holster for the money.

That does somewhat help. I think a holster that fits Officers 1911 or 3.5 1911s should work, have not pulled the trigger on anything yet, trying to save for the sig but it seems so far away :)

I don't have both pistols, but I have a Sig Ultra Compact 2-Tone. In my experience, leather holsters made for a regular 3.5" officer's size 1911 fit fine. I even bought a couple of used leather holsters from my LGS that were marked "Kimber Ultra II 3"." (A gentlemen that owned about 20 Kimber holsters asked the store to sell them for him.) The Kimber Ultra holsters fit but were a little tighter around the muzzle. They did work though. I sold them and stuck with the regular 3.5" officer's size holsters. I think you have more options with leather since they can stretch a bit. For leather 3.5" 1911 holsters, the Milt Sparks SS2, DM Bullard Dual Carry, and Occidental Leather Stronghold have all worked for my Sig Ultra Compact.

For Kydex holsters I found that my officer's size Comp-tac Infidel did not fit the Sig Ultra. The gun wouldn't even go all the way into the holster. My Crossbreed Supertuck made for a 1911 fit fine, and it's what I use most of the time for the Sig Ultra. I think you'd be fine with kydex holsters that are the slide type and don't cover the muzzle area, but the Sig has a different shape around the muzzle, so the full cover kydex holsters don't work.

Anyway, that's my experience with Sig Ultra Compact holsters so far.

Thanks! That's exactly the type of experienced opinion I was looking for! How do you like your sig ultra?

I noticed the same thing. The holster I use for the CW45 also carries my 3 inch STI, my Kimber UC II, and my Detonics CM. I think the SIG C3 also fits, but with a 4.25 barrel, it extends from the bottom.

I like it a lot. It's been 100% reliable so far. I have around 1000 rounds through it of all types of ammo, including my reloads. It shoots great. I can't tell a noticeable difference in recoil between the Sig Ultra and my Colt Combat Commander.

I want one so bad but I have nothing to sell to muster extra bucks but I'm focussed on it so I'll get there.

Here are a few pictures from a recent shooting session with my cm9 and my grandpa's Kimber and Colt.

Ran through a box of ammo between the colt and the kimber, I definitely want to pick up a .45. So fun to shoot and the kimber sized 1911s are not that much bigger than the cm9 except in grip. The Mark IV was a blast to shoot as well, hammering nails!

I do have a Kimber Ultra CDP II and it is a great carry gun. The 1911 platform guns should fit in the same holster. I would go with a leather model to accommodate any slight differences. My 3" Kimber will also ride just fine in a Holster designed for my Ed Brown commander.

I really like the DM Bullard bodyguard with the fbi cant. I have a Sig C3, big brother to the Ultra and it's great.
