Is the 7 round mag on the CW 45 just as reliable as the 6 round mag? I read a report about problems with the 7 round, but that was just one report.

In my case they were not reliable at all. I sent my gun back to Kahr, along with 3 7 round mag's I had bought, and they did a little work on my CW45 and supposedly it's fine now. Haven't had a chance to test it yet. So in my case no they weren't reliable. Some other models seem to have problems with extra capacity mags too. I'd probably go ahead and buy one and see how it works.

Hmm...mine work. I have not run many rounds through them though. Sounds like a good excuse for a range trip...

I got the free 7 rounder during the CW45 promotion last Fall.

In every session at the range, the original 6 round magazine functions flawlessly. The freebie 7 shot mag has a 40% FTF rate on the second round of each loading.

Yesterday out at the ranch I went thru 8 magazines full of WWB using the 7 rounder - it had two FTFs and one FTF/FTE (each one on the 2nd round fired) resulting in this mangled casing:

Shot 8 magazines full using my original 6 rounder without a hitch.

The 7 round mag is worthless, IMO.

I don't know what it is but I had issues with the extended mag that came with my PM9. Kahr did a swap for me and both my sixes are fine.

My CW45 is able to use my 7 round 1911 mags with out any modification to them.

I know tolerances can vary between guns and magazines so it may be different for other guns and mags.
