Or what is the bore diameter on the CW9?

I've had recommendations on using .358 softer lead to get a good seal and prevent leading

Others say .356 hard cast

I will be attempting to slug the barrel

I shoot .356 hard cast in the 9mm that I have.

Shoot .358 in the 38 and 357.

Go ahead and slug the barrel. Let us know what you get.
I think that the .358 will be too big for the 9mm.

I use 356 for all of my 9 and 380 reloads.

I have some soft lead bullets coming from a caster to slug my barrels

A .359 soft cast wouldn't fit, I broke the 5/16" wood dowel tapping on it:D

I sanded it down to .about .357 and pushed it through and came up with valley measurements of .3545, .355, and .3555 depending on which place I measured on the slug ;)

The hill measures .346 on the slug and muzzle

The muzzle valley measures .355, but the caliper ends don't get all the way to the bottom .

I use hard cast .356 bullets.. Even a hard cast bullet will obturate to fill the bore when fired and it will produce less leading of the bore than soft cast.

Did another slug a few minutes ago. This one measured 0.3555.

A 0.356 sized cast boolit seems to have a good chance of gases passing by, heating the lead up.:typing:

Just ran across this this morning
.355 for jacketed
.356 for lead
hope this helps

But "They" say at least .001" larger diameter than the bore, my CW9 measures .3555", so .356" is too small.

.357 is the next step up and probably won't chamber.

I just ordered 2000 124JHP's from Precision Delta:amflag:

You know those 124 JHP's are going to be too small by 0.005". Last time I looked, 0.356 is larger than 0.3555.

You could buy bullets big and push then thru one of these in whatever size you want:
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/343992/lee-bullet-lube-and-size-kit-356-diameter

I push ALL the cast bullets I buy thru a die like this to make all the bullets the same diameter, it only takes 10-20 minutes to do 1000.
I've pushed jacketed 38's thru it to load/shoot out of a 9mm:D

your results may vary:o

Tilos - Wonder if I got this and tried some 148 grain 38/357 DEWCs in my CW9. Think that they would chamber/load/work?
