Another CM9 durabilty & Quality question/going for a G26 instead

Being a Kahr forum I expect to hear that it's a quality pistol.

My CW9 runs just fine, and I found a CM9,advertised as Like New,with less than 500 rounds fired,1 magazine for $325 local.

NIB prices are anywhere from $389 to $429 on the CM9 in West Michigan.

Is this a fair deals these days? The CM9 is hard to find over here.

You can purchase one new for $379. A used Kahr comes with no warranty. Offer $275 or split the difference at $300 and it may be worth it. I wouldn't go any higher.

With the shipping and transfer on the grab a gun deal,I'd still be at around $400-$420

Talk about issues. Yesterday my cell wasn't working to contact "Andy" about the CM9, my hotmail account wasn't working-a Mircosoft issue.
My printer won't print out the MI-060,the Michigan Pistol Sale record the CPL holders need to use to buy pistols with.

Now me Mum just informed me that I have to drive her to church for 6PM mass,the same time as the buy is supposed to happen.
We have to drive 20+ miles in the other direction since her church is closed today.
Apparently today is a special day for her faith, without going into any more detail

So including the no warranty thing, I have 5 reasons going against me for buying this used CM9 today.

Things happen for a reason, something and someone are telling me that it's not a good thing to proceed.

rounds mean nadda in a good gun. If taken careof u could not tell if it had 50 rounds or 50,000 rounds. If u can test shoot it to see if it is what u want and does what it is designed to do. then the price is fair, no paper woprk to fokk with, no sales tax to fokk with, and u get the gun pronto. technicaly u have lost urwarranty but I doubt if kahr would know even if u had serious issues wit it to. Wave 3 $100 bills in front of him and I bet u will own it.

Sure u might find one $25 cheaper MAYB E but u said they are har d to find in ur area, Its a one time buy so if u pay 25-50 bucks more but get a good gun and getit now, u soon forget what the price was. Ain't like ur buying one every day or buying one to try to resell and make a few bucks. As u notice u got all kinds of opinions posted here, so more than likely we did no no good other than to confuse you.

It sure would be nice if u could range test it before buying it. Just sayin.

Guess a lot depends how you are going to use it. My CM9 and my son's Glock both have a little over 1000 rounds through them. Both have been 100% from day one. I like the Glock but the CM9 can disappear when carrying. The Glock is too bulky IMO. Glock is a little better range gun.

My complaint about Glocks (and I own a few) is that the Glock 26 is basically a shortened Glock 19 (length/height), Glock 23 to the 27, etc... You still get the thick grip and slide. My the time you add a pierce plus zero extension you might as well get a Glock 19 or 23. Don't get me wrong, I love my 30SF, but love CARRYING the K9...

If the SHTF, I want a Glock in my hand.

I like my CM9 for what it is, reliable and easy to conceal, my Glock 26 is not bad to carry and has never had a issue in the 5 years that i have had it.

The Cop is selling the G26 to a guy who is driving all the way over to Grand Rapids from DeToilet,about 200 miles.
The CM9 is back in the picture unless I ran across an AR deal before then.

Have you considered a K9? It is shorter than the G26 and weighs the same loaded? I have both and the K9 is my EDC over the G26. Three rounds doesn't worry me a bit... NOW, if I were looking for another gun ASIDE from Kahr for a carry at a similar price, I would not turn down a Walther PPS...

Oh and I see a Colt LE6920 Magpul in my future :-)

Buy the g26 then buy a tp9 kahr . Two big brothers , two little brothers.

Remember that baby glock is about the same OAL and OAH as cw9 with a metal base plate but thicker and heavier. The cm9 does make a good pocket pistol. Buy all you can afford !! Both brands shoot well. I sold my glocks as I just hated carry'n them.

I found a CM9 with 400 rounds fired,2 mags-1 is extended,a DeSantis pocket holster and front night sight for $380.

It's on the way down to our family reunion.

That's the way I feel about my G27. It has never let me down in the 17 years that I have owned it.

If it ever came down to a real SHTF situation, I would grab my G21 with it's 13 rds. and a couple of extra mags.

My Guns LC9, Kahr CM9 and Glock 26 Gen 4.
Got the Ruger first, then the Glock. The Glock ruined the LC9 for me. LC9 Ruger quality and company are A+, but that dang long double action, stacking, skinny excessively curved trigger, was a bummer after I got my Glock. I shot faster more accurately and confidently with the Glock. After I ruled out a trigger mod on the LC9 for legal reasons, the Ruger went bye bye. I bought a used (never registered so I got warranty) CM9 that was about 8 months old, hardly shot. 175 rounds through my CM9, it has been reliable, not a hint of an issue, but I do all that is suggested here, chamber first round with slide locked back, keep it clean.

If I could only have one carry gun.... it would be the Glock 26:

PROS
- Glock's as reliable as a literal hammer, it works well and last forever.
- Trigger is great, low recoil, accurate, best of the small 9mm guns.
- Lots of parts and accessories and for low price and widely available.
- More fire power, 10 rounds; add G19 mag w/ X-grip sleeve for 15 rds
- Want more fire power, add a 17/19/33 round magazine, they all fit!

CONS
It is heavy and thicker than all the super compact 9mm pistols, but not that much.

I really love the Kahr CM9. I love the feel, I shoot fast and accurate (not quite Glock but better than stock Ruger). CM9 is small enough to pocket carry, an option I didn't have before with the G26 or LC9. The Kahr CM9 is a keeper.....

500 rounds isn't a lot. Karh recommends a 200 round break-in. If the gun was well maintained it shouldn't give you any problems and you've saved the cost of running 200 rounds through the gun. Shoot the fokker like you stole it. At that price you practically did.

rather buy a gun(any gun) from muggsy after he has wasted 500 round sto do my break in for me, than spending the money to do it myself. He will shoot in any gun you send to him free of charge:behindsofa:

actually IMO u can't tell agun that ha shad 10 rounds or 500 rounds if it has been taken care of like one should with any gun. Not sure yet today just WTF in a kahr wears out utter than recoil springs. MY PMJ9 sure looks new internally in every which way. course I am stillinto my break in rounds yet, I am sztarting to feel now though alittle more confidence in this gun.:behindsofa:
