This has probably been discussed before but I didn't find it in a search:
Has anybody shot a lot of the Winchester Train & Defend ammo in their CM9 or PM9? If so, how did it perform?
I have read a lot and seen a couple of YouTube videos that seem to indicate that it is a viable round for 9mm carry. I looked at some at Academy and the price was decent. I like the idea of shooting what you carry but a steady diet of Hornady CD is to expensive for my blood.
Any thoughts or experiences?

I've shot 150-200 rounds of it. No problems but then again my CM9 hasn't had a problem with anything I've run through it.

Check this ammo test at Lucky Gunner: http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/self-defense-ammo-ballistic-tests/

That stuff wasn't very good for expansion, but you can get a good idea what is.

LG did an extensive test with CC-type pistols, including a CW45.

The test results are an eye-opener. Then there's Ballistics by the Inch to compare length of barrel performance: http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/calibers.html

No matter what they come out with, it seems that you just can't beat the HST'S and Gold Dots.............................................. ..........

I wanted a case of PPU 180-gr FMJ for my new P40 and the best price in stock was at SGA and they only had 19 boxes, so I was searching real hard for some kind of 9mm non +P for my wife... wanted to get one box to fill out the "case". Their search "engine" sucks... can't use but one or two things at a time... "In Stock" and 9mm. When I would get fancy with another thing like manufacturer, I would have to start over as everything was back on the screen... out of stock stuff, too.

I really wanted some of the best ones from LG's tests, but selection was limited. I was looking for maximum expansion and uniform staying within the first 18" of Clear Gel... had to settle for Remington 147-gr Golden Sabers... never tried 147's before, but got two 25-rd boxes to try in Wifey's G43.

I was kind of salivating over a few that they didn't have in stock... the Winchester 147-gr RangerT's at .74" average expansion or the Federal Micro HST 150-gr at .71".

My carry ammo is the Speer +P Gold Dot Short Barrel and it only got .51" expansion. I have 500-600 rounds of that, though!

Pretty spot on. Love my CM-9!

I've been concentrating on bonded bullets for my defensive ammo, but the LG tests show some real surprises. In .40 the 180-gr Remington Golden Sabers came in with great results and the best expansion in that test at .82".

And in .45 ACP the 230-grain Winchester Ranger T-series came in at 1.0" and the +P version .99"!

I need to see about changing out my defensive ammo and selling my supplies of the stuff that I have at the next gun show.

This is a YouTube video that I was referring to. This guys "Ammo Quest" seems to be pretty good.
