Wow, pretty weird, kind of like that Hotel California a few years back, you can come in but you can never leave.

Well if they can do that..... I want my free medical, medicine, dental and vision for the rest of my life after retirement like I was promised when I re enlisted for 6 years making me "Career Designated."

When I separated from the Navy after 12 years or so, I was told that as a commissioned officer, I would remain in the inactive reserve for life. I wonder if there's a need for a 70+ year old fighter pilot today. :Amflag2:

And here I thought once I hit a total of 30 years of service I could never be recalled. I now have a total of active and retired time of over 37 years and I'll be damned if I ever get involuntary recalled. I never heard of being subject to the UCMJ after I retired, either.

One thing I did notice in the article is that one case was in Japan and the other was in Okinawa. Two places overseas in which SOFA is used in just about any case involving a service member and the local authorities. I've never heard of anyone being court martialed in the US after retirement. I wonder if this has anything to do with this mess?

And I, too, would like to know where my free benefits are that were promised to me when I first joined up many moons ago!
