I picked up my factory new L5 at the LGS, I was first to open the case and inspect it. I walked back to the range to take a shot for a "fired brass volume' case for reloading.
No slide hold open. Hmmm... Second shot no slide hold open.
At home I removed the barrel to find the recoil springs NOT in their guide holes in the receiver, from the factory. Lost a half inch of slide travel, but it still sorta worked with a stiff slide and it would even lock back. :)
The earlier guide spring bevel 'lead in' seems to have been omitted. The factory final assembly guys could have used it. :)
Side by side with my Magna-Ported Mk7, although a couple pounds lighter, it still shoots better(or)equivalent.
