I'm curious to hear the community's experiences with aftermarket triggers on their Kahr pistols. I've been considering upgrading the trigger on my CW9 for improved pull weight and feel. Has anyone installed aftermarket triggers from companies like Galloway Precision or similar? What were your impressions? Did you notice a significant improvement in accuracy and overall shooting experience?I'm also interested in any potential downsides or issues encountered during installation or with the performance of aftermarket triggers. Are there any specific models to avoid, or any that you would highly recommend? I'd appreciate any insights and recommendations you can provide before I make a decision. I also wonder if using aftermarket parts will void the warranty from Kahr. Thanks in advance for your input!

Golly...I've been a member of this board for quite a few years and I've never seen this question/comment. Most everyone talks about how smooth Kahr triggers are. Some complain that they're long on the pull but everyone seems to love Kahr triggers. I know I do. Never even thought to get a different one. I'd love to hear what it is you don't care for.

Most folks usually rave about Kahr triggers.
The "long pull" is the only complaint I've ever read.
My MK40 Elite trigger is glassy smooth.
Never considered changing it.
On a related note.
My new Ruger LCP MAX trigger was giving me a blood blister on my trigger finger
Upgraded to the Galloway Precision Sigurd trigger and problem solved :D

I also never saw the need to do anything with the Kahr trigger. It is not a target gun.

Yep, what he said…….Hard to improve on perfection…..I wish my S&W 642 had the same trigger……

Okay, I'll be the odd one. First - I have not seen any aftermarket trigger available other than the Galloway flat face trigger. It's supposed to shorten the stroke a little. On the positive side, their instructions for installing the trigger are excellent, and the project was not unreasonably difficult. On the negative side.....I didn't like it, and it didn't make the stroke noticeably shorter. I took it back to stock after running it with the Galloway trigger for a while. I never had a problem with the stock Kahr trigger - even the original that had a longer stroke than the later models. Just wanted to see if there was any benefit to the flat face. I like flat triggers on some other guns, but not on the Kahr. I probably still have that thing around in my collection of parts somewhere....
My advice would be to simply learn to love the Kahr trigger as is. It's length of pull is a feature, not a flaw. And it's smoother than pretty much everything else. Still my favorite trigger for a daily carry pistol.

Kahr could sell their trigger technology to aftermarrket manufacturers.
I have never shot a Kahr semi that did not have a magnificent trigger right out of the box.

The only people I see complain about the Kahr trigger are the striker-fired Glock types who want Kahr to have that type of trigger pull. They think that any pistol that doesn't have a traditional Glock style striker trigger has a "bad" trigger. The truth is there's absolutely NOTHING wrong or needs to be improved with the Kahr trigger. People who shoot DA revolvers or DA/SA pistols pay a lot of money for aftermarket parts and/or to have a gunsmith tune the DA pull to get it to be close to being as good as the stock Kahr trigger pull.

I'd say that the gun is more accurate than you or I could ever be. If you want to shoot your Kahr pistols better, work on fixing whatever fundamental issues that you have with your trigger pull and keep your sites aligned, which is the root causes in why you might not be as accurate as you would like to be. 99.99% of the time, it's the shooter's skillset that needs to be "upgraded" and not the trigger or the gun.
That said, if you simply just want an aluminum trigger or a different look, go for it. If you are expecting trigger change to make Galloway Precision trigger to make you a better shooter and you're gun more accurate, I think you'll be disappointed.

The Kahr trigger could be twice the pull weight and still be a great trigger. Don't mess with perfection.

Pretty much universal with any firearm or trigger. Practice and familiarity. Personally, I have never changed any trigger on a striker fired or semi auto pistol. If the pistol didn't come with a trigger I liked, I got a different firearm. I don't believe that trigger changes are nearly as noticeable vs when done on revolvers, as far as accuracy goes.

I run all my Kahr's bone stock and love the Kahr trigger. My son recently picked up a PM40 cheap. It was an awful looking junker, but after a complete disassembly and some serious elbow grease buffing and scrubbing the little gun just looks old and carried...
My boy decided to replace every spring in the gun, so he put in the Mcarbo "reduced pull weight" trigger spring kit along with their stainless-steel spring guide. Having directly compared the two triggers side by side I'll just say... Meh?
Yes, You can tell that the spring kit trigger is a little lighter, I just don't think it brings enough to the party for me to buy into one. In my son's case, he was changing all the springs anyway and the Mcarbo spring kit was cheap and easy to get.
Your milage may vary...

I've been rocking a Galloway flat trigger on my P/CW 45 for about 5 years now with no issues.
I wrote about it back in the day: https://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?33070-Galloway-Precision-Gallowglass-Flat-Faced-Short-Stroke-Trigger-for-Kahr-9-40-and-45
