Now I'm hungry. My dad developed a taste for Spam during ww2, and my mom (who never ate it) humored him. I love it sliced about 1/8" and fried (lotsa mayo & thin-sliced dill pickle on lightly-toasted french) . . . and I like spam postings fried, too :p

I still eat fried spam sandwiches now and then. Only had it one time in the Navy on my third ship, served in the oil lab while on a cruise. Diced, added to rice in a rice cooker with a bit of Worcester sauce. Best meal I had on that whole cruise!

Ate a bunch of Spam when I was a kid along with little cans of something called Underwood Deviled Ham which I loved, haven’t seen any of it for years but with mayo on white bread it was really good…….

Oh, wow. Hadn't given that a thought for probably 40 or 50 years, but that paper-wrapped mini-can with a pointy-tailed, trident-equipped red dude came immediately to mind. Google says it's still available; gonna get me some.
Fried bologna was another favorite: lightly-toasted, heavily-mayo'd white bread with (apologies, Armybrat) a couple slices of thin-sliced dill pickle. Childhood bliss.
