Guess I’m the only guy here who got sucked into this deal, and just ordered one.

I have absolutely no need for another CW9 - already gave my old one to my son. Bought two ofthe S9 versions - gave one to my grandson and the other is still unfired in my safe.
Guess I can’t resist a real bargain.

However, a friend or relative is going to wind up with it.

I have to keep reminding myself that a deal is only really a deal - if I actually need the product - LOL!
That said, I still buy stuff I don't need but can't pass up.
If I really like a gun and come across a second for a really good price?
Well let's just say I've ended up with a few duplicate or near duplicate guns.

Well said and so true. Lol, my first impulse was to order the dang gun right away. Then reality set in. I have too many guns now. And for me, guns are made to shoot and shoot often. Sadly some are not getting their exercise.
Any new shooter would do well to pay attention. Some of the best guns, the best deals are NOT all the new shot show guns you see every year. Rock Solid firearms are right under your nose. Just learn as much as you can. Pretty much pertains to a lot of things in life. Not just guns.

I love my 590 Shockwave.
But my understanding is that this new Mossberg is not a 940 without a stock.
Mossberg had to redesign the action to remove the stock.
So, this is truly a new model gun.
Therefore, I'm hesitant to jump and am waiting for the potential bugs to be worked out.
