I usually buy my 9mm and .40 from my local Bi Mart. Today I went, since there were advertising 2 bucks off a pack of 50 but WOW, their prices have climbed. I usually buy the 250 packs, 57 for the 9mm and 78 for the .40. Today they were 64 for the 9mm and 89 for the .40. Fortunately I was at a Walmart a couple of weeks ago and bought the same pack of .40 for only 69. I didn't buy one, but their 9mm was only 51. Think I'll be heading back to Walmart unless they bump their prices that much too. Other wise I'll cut my use of .40 and 9mm in half and just shoot more .22.

Are those prices FMJ practice ammo? If so, .40 S&W might be cheaper online. The folks at SGammo.com (http://www.sgammo.com/product/aguila/1000-rds-40-cal-180-grain-fmj-aguila-ammo) have good prices, if you are willing to buy in bulk. That link is for 1000 rds - 40 cal 180 grain FMJ Aguila Ammo at about $250 plus $22 shipping. :)

Don't know if it is true, or if it is a local issue, but I was advised by reliable LEO defensive tactics trainers that ammo will be going up another 40% or so very soon. I also do not know what is behind the price increase other than the usual government nonsense. Like tobacco, ammo is a health hazard and causes cancer you know...haha. Time to reload folks.

Prices just went up May 1 anywhere from 10-15%. They are expected to go up end of summer again.
