The one on the left is the Speer gold dot. That expansion looks atypical for a gold dot. When federal came out last year and did ammo testing, gold dots and ranger t were averaging .60 to .67 in diameter. The hst averaged around .68. They all penetrated between 14 to 16 inches of calibrated ballistic gel. In other words, they all perform about the same with he edge going to the bonded gold dot for hardened barrier penetration.
