after cleaning my p380 i noticed the slide didnt go all the way forward after moving the slide back a bit to check if it was loaded.it seems the recoil springs need replacing.im wonderin how many rounds it should take to need replacing.it was supposed to be new when i got it but im havin my doubts.feed ramp is polished too.i got springs comin and it shoots perfect otherwise.

I suspect everything is fine. It's probably still a little tight and doesn't like the easy press check. Personally I'd probably just smack the back of the slide when you do the short pull press check. If it's shooting fine otherwise your in good shape.
If memory serves they recommend recoil springs at around 1500, might be 12 to 15, can't remember for sure.

Try it with the mag out. How stiff do the recoil springs feel now?

Is your current recoil spring the original or the newer, heavier spring? The heavier rate spring is not the magic fix, at least in my experience after aprox. 3900 rnds.

got both springs, the new ones are noticeably stiffer.the gun works great, but i'll definetly be slidin by the gun shop and suggesting that don't ever sell a used gun as new.it was an indoor range in lumberton texas and maybe it was shot as a demo.
