GORGEOUS! Does she shoot as good as she looks?
Just got to dance some cans across the desert floor so far.
It's freaking cold here in Phoenix - Lol.
But yes, it's a shooter
Update:
Close to 1000 rounds down the pipe.
Shot 200 Federal HST 230 JHPs this morning at the break of dawn.
Punched a ragged hole out of the bullseye :D
Functioned perfectly.
This thing is a winner!
Really like being able to disassemble with no tools.
And the factory slide release has that modification to push straight in with no idiot scratches :D
Only issue was the safety drew blood eating the web of my hand
Emailed Dan Wesson and they said there was nothing they could do to resolve that
Had my gunsmith fit a Wilson Combat Bullet Proof Tactical Safety.
Problem Solved
If I get a second 1911?
It will be a Wilson...
That's Colt's "Royal Blue". It's done with modern bluing salts, so I'd say the color is blue-black.
The ultra pre-bluing polish done on guns that have the "Royal Blue" finish is what gives that finish such depth (and makes it hard to capture the true color in photographs).
The "Royal Blue" polish was first done on the Python in 1955. It's available as a refinish option from Colt's Custom shop today.

Greg since I'm living vicariously through you.. Think you need to get a pair of those grips. Have got to be the best I've ever seen. Surely you have something you can put them on.. don't you? :behindsofa:
Not sure those are grips my style, but I do know I don't have any 1911's with that nice of finish. If I did the grips, I'd probably need to go ugly and put them on my Essex

Barth for those that possibly don't know, can you show the slide release mod so they can do it. I've done it on all mine
[QUOTE=jg rider;383773]I'm at the gym right now.
Here's a link with pics of the modification.
My 2016 DW V-Bob came this way from the factory and goes straight in - Easy Peasy :D
