Plastic grips in the 1/2 price cart at a local shop

Bees I can handle, but spiders and snakes...NO WAY! That rattle snake in the pic blends into the ground waaaaaay too well. That’s CREEPY!
Those are some of the nicest wood grips I’ve seen on your Sig. What kind of wood is that? How does the .22 shoot? Does it cycle the slide religiously? I’ve always wondered about the 1911 .22’s as the little .22’s I’ve had (Walther P22 and Ruger SR22) slides were super thin and lightweight, but would still not cycle without the higher velocity stuff. Is the Sig slide aluminum?

The grips were listed as being walnut and I've seen nothing about them to cause me to doubt that.

The SIG's slide is alloy. I shoot a lot of bulk ammo through it and it handles that just fine. It will shoot standard velocity stuff decently, but starts to stutter as it gets dirty. It will continue to run fine with the bulk stuff, but at some point even that will start to act up. However, that's usually well past the 500 round mark. The ATI GSG 1911 is virtually the same gun. There is aftermarket stuff available for both (for example: https://www.cwaccessories.com and https://www.tandemkross.com/GSGSig-1...Kit_p_163.html ).

This right here. Especially the hairy ones.

Thankfully, we don't have tarantulas here, but we do have wolf spiders. They get almost as big, and they're one of only 3 venomous spiders found around here.

They're fast, and the females carry their babies on their backs. Nasty things.

We have those wolf spiders here too. They come out of everywhere in the spring. One time We had a big female get into the kitchen and she must have got into some bug spray because she had died, BUT THOSE BABY SPIDERS DIDN'T! They had come off her back by the hundreds and were spreading all directions like an invasion. That’s when I learned they carry their young.

Now I will admit that if I see one outside and far from the house I’ll let it live in hope it will get the giant tree roaches we have around here too. Funniest thing is if the wife sees one of those tree roaches near her foot she’ll climb up my back trying to get away from it.

Guns with grips are used to kill insects. Duh?

Now I gotta look up tree roach. Nice thing about California II (Washington) is we don't got many insects or snakes that will kill ya. More on the east side, the good side of the state.

Maybe that's it, do these snakes and insects hate liberals and target them? Maybe that's why all the good states got em? Have to ponder this some.

Is that the same thing as a Locust? Them critters that wipe out the grain belt and farmers are only saved by Willie Nelson's farm aid concert?
Or a Roach, not to be confused with a roach clip which is a hippie smoke holder.

Thanks for the info. Those walnut grips sure have a nice graining to them, if that’s what it’s called. Looks exotic.
I may have to try that GSG then as I’ve seen them for really low prices on the used gun sites. That CW Accessories makes some really nice looking stuff too, and also at some good prices when compared to what that kind of stuff runs for higher caliber counterparts. I probably have 1k rounds of .22 in different grains/velocities, now I just need to get something again to shoot them with. Just got a 454 casull (Raging Bull) and man is that expensive to shoot! Can’t stay at the range long at that expense!!!
