Fusion 1911's

I'm communicating with the little devils on my shoulders. Of course one is all go for it, the other is you don't need another gun. The first one says it's planning for the future, an all steel 9 for when I'm feeble and weak and can't handle the recoil. The 2nd of course says that will never happen. The first says even the high speed, low drag experts practice with 9's to save wear and tear on their wrist etc since they shoot a lot! Then carry 45's for carry.
This would work in my case even though I don't shoot alot, but it's the same platform as my preferred carry 45's. Course the 2nd devil says, ya big whuuus, you been totin a girlyman 9mm 365 for months.
Might be time for the coin flip.

They're just like Wisconsin weather. Wait a minute and something else will come along that you want more. If you don't shoot that much, I'd stick with the .45. You've already gone too far with the 9mm. Wait, what am I talking about. I just purchased a 9mm. Even my wifey is worried that something's wrong......................

Anybody with first hand experience with Fusion 1911's? A Riptide kind of caught my eye on an auction site. Looks good, few reviews I found were positive. Wife is almost ready to distribute the loot.

I've no experience with Fusion's pistols, but I have used quite a few of their parts (sights, guide rods, plugs, screws, etc.). I've not had an issue with any of them.

There are plenty of 1911's in 9mm ans one of the better of the ones I have shot was a Rock Island commander. Good trigger, all steel, I think they are still around $500. Most carry guns are for defending yourself and your family so I don't get too wrapped in aesthetics as long as it goes bang every time I pull the trigger.

That said, it was you colonel, that made me buy that pre owned Wilson Stealth in 45acp, so ignore what I said in the paragraph above.

I've had a full size Rock Island 1911 in 9mm for quite a while now and like it quite a bit. It goes to the range with me on most every trip and rings the fifty yard target about as often as my SIG P210 Standard does. It might be a hair more pleasant to shoot as well.

FWIW, it runs 38 Super with a barrel and magazine swap.

I've had a full size Rock Island 1911 in 9mm for quite a while now and like it quite a bit. It goes to the range with me on most every trip and rings the fifty yard target about as often as my SIG P210 Standard does. It might be a hair more pleasant to shoot as well.

I've used quite a few Fusion parts also, always seemed to be good stuff. My main thought it the Stingray is all steel so still kind of hefty, nice for a soft shooter but not nice for carry weight although it's never really bothered me. But my quest was primarily for a light weight since I probably won't shoot it near often enough. I back pedaled and ordered a Tisas, it's an aluminum frame with the Bobtail already on board which I like. Not quite as refined as the Fusion but I think it will work for me and a few hundred dollars cheaper too. Guess we'll find out when it finally arrives. Now the painful wait for shipping, then the additional painful wait for the county to give me the ok.

You and me both. It sure is hard to justify the prices. I know they do a lot of handwork, but at almost $1300 it's hard to swallow. I'd have to change the sights also...........

Mr. Wilson said he builds/sells more 9mm 1911s than 45 ACP these days...

My single 1911 is a Dan Wesson V-Bob 45.
So I can't help with the Fusion question

That's not customer service in my book.
Got a Bullet Proof Tactical Safety from Wilson Combat.
Problem solved

If I ever buy a 1911 again? It will be Wilson Combat
