I left the flat faced short stroke trigger in but have switched the hammer, firing pin and trigger return springs back to stock. Disappointed. I’m still hoping that just having the flat faced trigger will eliminate the bite/banging of my trigger finger.
Many years ago, when I first started shooting the LCP, I really did not like it. And alway's had my finger hurt with banging. Over time with so many rounds down range, I had no issue. No idea why I can think of other than just got use to the gun. For myself, I find the LCP's a much harsher shooting gun than both the Kahr and Pico both of which I find very mild shooting. I do know that the LCP's at least the one's I owned required a much tighter grip. All my LCP's were reliable, never had any issues with light strikes. The APX is a unique bullet. I never used them other than my P32 Keltec and they work fine, however I have read so many times they do not feed in a lot of guns. I shoot the PrecisionOne Plus P for all my 380's for defense. Sounds like your LCP just does not like that round. Personally I would just stick to stock trigger and get use to it. Adding a lighter trigger spring never made much sense to me. Too much chance for a light strike.
I bought a new Pico once. When I got it, it was the 2nd Gen trigger which my others have, but this trigger for some reason was lighter. It shot well, but I had a couple of light primer strikes. I sent it back, told them the trigger was too light and it was returned with a heavier trigger and never any more light strikes. Might want to ditch the APX ammo.
I personally do not care for the square triggers, some love them, just not me. The Kahr Trigger IMO is the best trigger on the planet for self defense. But that is only my opinion. Good luck, keep at it, I am sure you will find a happy medium.

    Thanks.

I’ve not had a single feed or ejection failure with the Max with 440 rounds. Only light strikes with the after market springs. The stock springs have been reinstalled and we’ll see if the flat trigger solves the banging of my trigger finger.

I seem to have a problem with curved triggers that have a trigger dingus. Had the same problem with a Walther PDP-F. Sold the gun.

Personally If I were a Sig 365 fan. I would have invested in the Sig 365 380 vs the Ruger. Think about it. Basically the same gun in size and dimensions, and bonus of being lighter by a few ounces. And my guess the Sig would be a much better and smoother

I have both the Max and a 365-380.

I prefer the 365 but for me they serve different purposes.

The 365 is bigger and heavier and has almost no recoil or muzzle flip. I like the trigger and it’s a joy to shoot. I carry it IWB at about 1:00. It’s too big for me to pocket.

The Max is principally for pocket carry around the yard. The stock trigger bangs my finger and I find it very unpleasant to shoot. I’m hoping the Mcarbo short stroke flat trigger fixes that.

The Max has been more reliable. In stock configuration I’ve had no malfunctions. I did have light strikes with an Mcarbo spring kit but that’s not a Max problem.

I’ve had a few malfunctions with the Sig. One fail to eject with Fiocchi range ammo. That ammo won’t run in my Kahr CT380 but it runs fine in the Max and my EZ 380. I had a couple of recent feed failures with the 365. There have been some issues with the recoil spring assembly so I replaced it after 470 rounds and fired 60 rounds without issue.

Following back up on the LCP trigger and spring replacement.

I like the Mcarbo flat trigger as it doesn’t seem to bang my trigger finger like the stock curved trigger does.

Trigger pull weight is where it gets interesting. My LCP with the Mcarbo trigger and the stock springs weighs in at 5 lb 6 oz. The pull is not smooth but it’s lighter than what I expected. With the Mcarbo trigger and springs (12# hammer, firing pin and trigger return) the pull weight is 2 lb 5 oz. Too light for carry and it causes light strikes. I’ve contacted Mcarbo and am waiting to hear their response. (Trigger pull measured is an average of 5 with my Wheeler gauge pulling as close to the center of the trigger as possible).

I tried Galloway’s spring set and got similar results.

I’ll be staying with the stock springs.

That's too bad it didn't work out. Personally, I have too many other things to do all of the time, to keep taking firearms apart to try to make them better/more to my liking. Especially, firearms that don't cost a lot of money. If I don't like a firearm out of the box, I don't purchase it. If you like that kind of thing, great. Too many choices out there to have to replace this and that. The only firearm I've done work on is a revolver.

I enjoy working on firearms. Just another one of my hobbies.

Just checking - what did Mcarbo say when you called them? Were you ever able to resolve the issue?
