Now that I think about it, the reason I drive older cars must be so I can buy guns and ammo.
What is the cost of a new gun in Ammo currency?

$500 gun = 2,000 rds of ammo (approx) So which is better, a gun you really do not need, or the ammo to become a better shooter with the gun you already have?

Or purchase both. $1,000 If you saw a gun, you really do not need but like, would you trade 2,000 rds of your stash for the gun?

In the past I usually figured a case of ammo for each new purchase. That’s why I haven’t bought a .45 lately. In the past that added about $180 to each purchase for a 9mm. Now it’s $258 for a case of my favorite S&B 9mm. I like S&B because of the tens of thousands of rounds I shot I only remember 2 rounds that didn’t go bang the first time, but they both fired the second try. I never had that good of luck with blazer, federal, Winchester, or anything else.

But even recently I’ve gone to maybe 500 rounds for any new gun. But kinda like you were saying, shooting something I already have is good too. I have either owned or shot so much of what is out there today, I don’t see too much interesting. Most recently was that Kimber Evo I picked up last year because it was something different and pocketable.

Actually I’ve sold off some this year. Trying to figure out my long term needs and what I want to keep because it suits my future lifestyle.
Im debating between Glocks (which are not my favorite), my 2 HK’s, my Kahrs, and a couple of Sigs, oh, and 3 revolvers I like the DA and DA/SA best, but striker fired may be more suitable. Haven’t figured out for sure yet.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

The new "micro-9mms" look very appealing as a replacement. I was wondering how shooting a P365 compares to the Kahr: trigger pull, trigger reset, grip purchase, felt recoil, etc.
Also, is the weight&size difference noticeable when carrying? I would probably get a standard size because in NY we are limited to 10 rounds in a mag, so why get a longer grip.
The CM9 smooth trigger is nice but the it does have a long reset.
    Thanks in advance.
This thread sure has drifted off topic. Regarding the OP questions as compared to a 365:

Trigger pull and reset - very different. 365 pull is shorter and lighter and the reset is shorter. Sig offers both a curved and flat trigger for the pistol and there are aftermarket triggers available. Kahr trigger is “safer” in that it has a longer heavier pull. I prefer the 365 trigger.

Grip purchase - this is very subjective. The standard CM9 grip is a little bigger than the standard 365 grip but the 365 has multiple grip options available. I prefer the 365 grip purchase.

Felt recoil - I think this is very dependent on how well the grip fits your hand. They’re both small and lightweight so they have the potential to feel snappy. I prefer the 365 but only because the grip ergonomics are better for me.

muggsy: Let's face it, being shot by a .380 will ruin anyone's day.

I've never shot a 365 but I have handled one. I have shot a CM9. I did like how the 365-grip felt. Liked the 365 balance also. Can't say about the trigger but I would probably like the 365 also. With the CM9, a bit too long of a trigger pull for me.

I posted a long time ago how myself and 4 others took the Sig 365 out and tested it with 1,000 rds. All very experienced shooters. All I am going to say is this. Try the 365 out for yourself. This should be very easy as they are popular and most indoor ranges have them for rent. Shoot the Kahr and 365 side by side. Decide which one you prefer. Do not forget the use of the OFF HAND for support. IMO it is one the most important/Critical things you can do on small pistol and one of the most over looked. Not only does it give you a huge support factor, but if you have a medium or large hand, you may ride the slide.
They are two completely different triggers. And very subjective. I love the Kahr Trigger some hate it. If you feel you need a light trigger with a short reset, then the Kahr is NOT the gun for you. If you choose a light trigger then consider a Safety. However, the internet Culture these day's will blast you for it. (no pun intended) also you will need to learn the Muscle, Memory skills that go with a safety. And remember there are a gazillion new Micro's on the Market. A ocean full of them, if you do not prefer either.

One question about your present shooting is. How much do you shoot per month? 10 sessions, 4, 1?

I personally am a Claude Werner and Todd Green fan. I subscribe to the quote below for practical EDC.

I did that about 3 yrs. ago. Thought about future lifestyle, home needs, defensive needs, ammo, etc. I don't see a need to keep large amounts of ammo. I have enough to keep them busy for a while until they bring in the heavy artillery . and enough for practice. I paired down firearms, and only kept what I needed. Didn't keep anything that I didn't shoot. I've never been a collector. I like to shoot what I own without hesitation about keeping something pristine. I also kept in mind calibers. I'm still able to shoot 5 different calibers.

I have both. Actually, my P365 is the XL. Having been a DA revolver shooter for years until my first K9, the Kahr trigger is perfect for me. Although it's all rage, I don't need to ride the reset. I'm ambivalent about it. If you are one of those who needs to do that, you're probably going to prefer the 365. You should note, however, that the practice is entirely a training issue. Miculek isn't riding any reset on his revolvers, and his splits are faster than the vast majority of auto shooters.

I don't find the 365 to be any easier to shoot quickly and accurately than any of my Kahrs. The 365 trigger is good, but a little overrated, IMO. If you want a really good SA trigger on a subcompact striker fired plastic pistol, check out the S&W PC Shield Plus. The 365 grip is also a little too small in my average size hands.

In a few threads back, 22,cal was mentioned. Just saw this for the TX22. Get three additional mags Aug to Oct. (National Pride Week) The tX22 comes with two magazines. This will give a total of 5.

Yep. My shooting buddy opted for the TX22 (bigger hands and smaller budget). Reviews of the Taurus are really good. I opted for the Sig mainly because the grip is smaller than the Taurus and it feels similar to my 365s. Tomorrow is range day

Normally I would go with a smaller gun. I am considering different options. Might go with a full size for a change with longer barrel. I do not like Red Dots except for long distance. But shooting a larger gun at 50 yds with a Red dot might bring some new fun to the table. I would love to see a Sig M17 style since my Son has one. Not sure what Sig actually offers.
