I have a K9 Elite 03 with aftermarket wood grips. Definitely my barbecue gun. I guess I never knew there was a K9 and an Elite03. What's the difference?

OK I did some Sherlock work. Its mostly that the Stainless is polished uniformly to a satin finish. It's gorgeous! I wonder if there are any Elites with black finish slides? There"s some mention about the NYPD trigger but all I know is my trigger gauge says 6-7 lbs and it is a smooth as smooth can be.
They all retail for a lot , a LOT more than 99.95% of people are willing to pay. It's just not sustainable. Most buy used. All of my K's and MK's were purchased from $300 - $350 with the exception of my K9 that was $500 used. I purchased the K9 during the time Kahrs were still really popular. I would NEVER pay over ~$450 for one new or used. Other than that, the Elites aren't worth it, IMHO. All you're getting is a mismatch type of finish and the "elite" engraving.
I like the regular non elite version. The K40 in the pics was $340 used manufactured in 2014, so it's over a decade old. I periodically pull out some high grit wet sand paper and Mothers Polish to keep it looking brand new. Takes all of a few minutes. I can't remove scratches and rub marks on the Elite without completely removing the beadblast aka "Elite" part of the finish.

IIRC, the Elites also come with beveled mag well. The "Elite" trigger, at some point I can't recall, became the standard trigger for all K, P, T, and C Kahrs.
