    Default The X9

So the wife and I went by the 2024 NRA show in Dallas today. I was able to fondle the new Kahr X9 for the first time. Nice, I think I'll get one. The guy in the booth said they expect to release them in June, but he did not know what suppliers would get them first. We will just have to keep the eyes open and see who is first out the gate. MSRP is $549 and will come with two 10 round, flush fit magazines, with extended 15 round mags to be out by the end of the summer.
Fun time at the show. I decided to get an X9 (when released) and the wife decided I need to buy her a 2in Colt Cobra...
Let the wallet wince, you only live once.

Also, We had about 30 thousand Pro Gun folks, the Texas Gov and Donald Trump in the house. The other side had a little over 100 folks across the street saying "Bad Guns... Bad Guns..." In Texas, that's the best they could do.

    Peace

The other cute thing that'll eventually wind up going home with me was one of these for the grandkids. The Mini 1903 Springfield is really just a restocked Cricket .22 single shot. Well. it looks great! I need to hurry though. My oldest grandson is 13, shoots his own 30-30 lever gun and loves our AR15's. The two younger ones will soon be too old for a Cricket and be wanting to shoot the 1022 or something...

    Peace

    I'm a kid at heart, I want a mini 1903 myself.

I think Kahr oughta give dedicated Kahrtalk members a first shot at new stuff that comes out. At least get some sent to a local dealer so they have access to em.

I値l volunteer to be a beta tester for the X9 as soon as one is available for purchase at a decent price.
Have been jonesing for a 10+1 compact 9mm since gifting my Ruger Max 9 to the new grandson-in-law.
That gun did not float my boat even though I知 a Ruger fanboy.

I waited and waited for Sig to work the bugs out of the P365.
    Finally, recently picked one up.
Added the Wilson Combat grip module, which I totally love
Then ran 200+ 124/147 gr FMJ/JHPS through it.
Everything ran fine right out of the box.
Gun grouped well with 147 gr ammo, but was hitting a little low?
Read others were having the same issue.
Swapped out the OEM XRAY3 NS with XS Big Dot DXT2 Optic Orange and problem solved
Those sights really pop on the gun!
    For a 10+1 subcompact, it's a keeper -

I added a thumb safety to my 365 which I like much. I regret not having an optics ready slide. I don't think they were offered when I got mine. Also don't know if the standard 365 has that option. Not sure I want to go XL.
It's probably cheaper to buy a new optics ready gun than to buy just a slide plus the red dot. I'm still not a huge fan of the red dot but they are getting better and my eyes aren't so there could come a time. Guess I'll need an optics ready 1911 too of course. I intend to be ready until they nail the lid shut or close the door on the oven.

They do have an optic ready P365 model with a manual safety

I'm near sighted and can see my iron sights crystal clear uncorrected.
Interestingly, I need my contacts in to not get a starburst with a Red (or Green) dot.
I'm 67 and my eyes haven't changed over the last 10 years (maybe that won't last?).
Can highly recommend the Holosun SCS green dot (have on my VP9SK).
It's solar powered with a non-replaceable battery and is 100% co-witness with low OEM iron sights.
Also mounts directly to the gun with no adapter plate!
Holosun makes one for the P320, so maybe a P365 model is in the works?

Got my NIB Hk VP9SK with Holosun Green Dot package (pre-installed and zeroed) for $941
BTW The new VP9SKs are now 12 +1 with flush base plates

10 round mag probably equates to a two fingered grip. That痴 a no go for me. 15 round mags are probably too long for conceal at 1:00. 12 round mags are the sweet spot for me.
