I had one of those for a while. I ended up giving it to my oldest son. He had a Colt Buntline commemorative, and I thought it would go well together. Didn't fit in the safe too good. Kind of wish I had it back, I'd just hang it on the wall and slobber on it now and then.

I like the Pitbull 9mm (same frame) with Pachmayr compact grips and if I ever find one of the older six-shot version I will buy it on the spot. The 380 version should shoot very well.

Edit: I found a model number for the Charter Arms Pitbull 380. It has a 7075-aluminum frame and 3 inch stainless barrel. Model #73802, if you'd like to google/gunbroker one.

I was once asked if I was "a paranoid for carrying my Kahr".
    "Nope" I said, "just prepared".
" prepared for what" he asked?

I had a Bulldog Pug 44 special. It was remarkably tame and shot well, back when Charter Arms was hit and miss as far as quality. I don't recall why I ever got rid of it and wish often that I had kept it. Truth be told, I regret ever selling a single one.
Like my Dan Wesson 4 barrel pistol pack in the brief case, those things are going for a couple grand these days and I traded that one for a 03 match rifle. Still got the rifle, wish I still had the Dan Wesson. whoa is me.

The New Charter Arms Coyote is a five shot. The version of the Pitt Bull as you describe is a 20 oz gun which for my purposes would not work as I would prefer the light weight concealment of the Coyote. Not wanting to get in a caliber war, but IMO the 380 is not far from the 32 HR. but more practical in availability and much less cost. I prefer moon clips on a revolver. Wish my Smith 642 38 had them. They do have a Smith that comes with Moon clips, but there is no where to find the clips for sale. 380 has come way down in Price. About $5.00 per box cheaper than 38.
I love my LCR9mm which I have owned since it first came out and have really come to love the clips. And I can buy the clips in Bulk. I typically load 40-50 clips the night before a range session. Clips for the Coyote are about $8.00 ea..

I hadn't even heard of the Coyote until you posted about it. Damn interesting little gun. Really, really wish it was a 6-shot, but otherwise think it's a great little package. And I agree with you WRT 380 vs 32 H&R...pretty much a toss-up in terms of performance, but there are probably 5 good SD offerings in 380 for every 1 you'll find in 32 H&R.

Yes Bosco, I agree with all you have said. It is a shame it is only 5 shots. Not worth the investment since I have a 5 shot 642 38. $400 can be used to purchase ammo. I do believe that a 6 shot Snub 380
is right around the corner. 32 HR has never kicked off like I thought it would. Still sky high prices. And on that 380, I would not purchase because it is NOT enclosed hammer. I personally do not believe having a DA/SA on a Snub nose gun is anything but dangerous. First they will snag, at least for me. I have had them snag many times. And anyone that would use anything but a DA in self defense is setting themselves up for disaster. Besides, I am a DAO fan.
If I were to get another revolver it would be the Taurus Ultraligt six shot with the enclosed hammer or maybe the Kimber Xs.. I see one now for $300.

The situation would of course dictate my actions but I'm just the opposite. If there's time, I'll cock the hammer every single time. My wife has a Smith 638 with the shrouded hammer. She doesn't cock it because there's not much purchase to the hammer and it might slip away if she tried to let the hammer down. I do though. An old member here has a gunsmith remove material on his 638 so it was exposed a bit more.
Guess I'm born 100 years too late and a thumb buster, I love single action. I have a Colt Cobra, one of the early nice ones. One of the first guns I ever bought, carried it for many years. Best shooting gun I ever had pretty much. Sweet double action but again I still cock it.

Too bad they do not have options. Of course I could have the hammer grind down. I have to admit, the gun still intrigues me. Especially since I went over my ammo stash. I enough 9mm and 380 now to last a life time.
I also like the fact that it would be easy to shoot with the old standard wooden grip which would conceal very well. Similar to my old Rossi. I am also thinking about down the road. Something simple and easy to shoot in my old age. And again, I LOVE moon clips. Just loaded up 50 last night for the range today to shoot my LCR9mm.
PS I also have the LCR22 which has been a HUGE asset for training.

The Rossi has a horrible DA, but the single action shoots like a Target gun. Extremely accurate.

By the way, headed to the range to try out my new grips for the LCR9mm and 642. Appendix carry.

I certainly am NO Hickok45. But I sure do agree with him.
