New P9-2 on its way

After about a month of researching a new carry pistol, I happily landed on a P9-2. With soooo many options out there it wasn't an easy process. In the end what worked FOR ME was the super slim profile and a smooth trigger action that felt natural to me being a life-long revolver shooter. Capacity, ya you can do better BUT you'll also add a bit to the width which I wasn't interested in with an every day/all day carry..."thin is in" for me (.9 inches). I went back-and-forth between 40 S&W and 9 but the impact on aging hands pushed me towards the 9. Shooting and hunting with my 357/44 magnums revolvers and 460 Rowland 1911's are in my rear view mirror. Arthritis and carpal tend to bark at me after a short time at the range...and the hit on the wallet also hurts. I collected all these little post-t notes and put the specifications on a spreadsheet. (The EZ Shield was a very close 2nd, but I do like my Kahr triggers) Add-in a price of $313 at Buds and it was a win-win...for me. Looking forward to some quality range time.

To me, the best model for grip fit/feel for my size hand. A good choice. I am partial to .40 cal though. I would have probably opted for the older model myself. They are pricier though.

Ya, I was close to doing the 40 S&W, but my brain was sayin: "what's the 40 going to feel like in 5 years...10 years?" Probably not much better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Given that you like revolver triggers you’ve made a great choice.

I was always comfortable shooting with a good S&W trigger. I shot my old model 27 good enough to do some Steel Challenge with it. Doesn't mean I walked away with an "attaboy" trophy, but I had fun doing it. The Kahr trigger is better than the best custom revolver trigger money can buy...IMHO.

FYI: A few weights are wrong on your chart, one of which is the P9-2. It's actually 18.6oz and not 15.8oz. Kahr list their weight without the magazine while the others list the weight with the mag.

Next, Kahr lists the width of their slide, which is 0.9" with the P9-2. The thing is that the width of the slide on the Shield 2.0 9mm/40s&w and Shield Plus is also 0.9" just like the Kahr. S&W is listening overall width I believe and Kahr is not.

Other than that Bud's pricing is on the high-end as a few of those options can be found elsewhere for much less. The P9-2 was a steal though. If you don't care about capacity, you did well. I would have probably opted for the 40s&w too, or better yet, maybe the .40 Shield 2.0 with a conversion 9mm barrel.You made the right choice though for your situation.

You made the right choice IMHO. The price point of the P9-2 would have swayed me. As far as the width goes, some manufacturers list the slide, grip, or overall, but don't tell you which they're going by. It's just like how some ammo companies list the velocity, but don't disclose which barrel length they used. I wish they were all more clear.
