It was a bad day but you regroup, rebuild and go on, I often think of all those people in the Carolina’s that lost everything in the hurricane last year and are still trying to put things back together…….To this day I will sometimes look for something I know I have then remember, oh yeah, it burned up……..I will always miss Bo, he was the best dog but things move on and after 20 years we decided to adopt a rescue dog that really needed a forever home, Gypsy is a 5 or 6 year old 145 lb female Rottweiler, Doberman mix that looks like a man killer but is the sweetest most loving dog I’ve ever known…..

Someone was using her for a puppy mill and tossed her and pups out on the side of the road and thank God the Doberman rescue people got her and she came into our life………I call her Crocadog because the back of our den sofa faces the kitchen and every time I open the fridge I see these big brown eyes and snout rise up over the sofa top looking at me…….I’m known as the “Cheese Daddy” because I can’t resist those eyes……..She is on a diet, sorta……

A big 👍 for Gypsy. Lucky dawgg!

My granddaughter lost her 12 year old “baby” Toby to lymphoma last fall and was devastated.
But a couple months ago adopted Sophie, a rescue out of Mexico.

It is so devastating to lose a family member. Been there more than a few times. I'm still trying to figure out why people have dogs if they're just going to treat them like s#!t. 6,500,000 dogs in need of rescue mostly because of irresponsible, cold, uncaring idiots. It hits a soft spot in my heart, and I give my respect for people who rescue and rehome dogs and for the people who adopt them. Most need a lot of work because of uncaring humans. We adopted again in January, and we always end up being happier for it, but we never forget the past family members who gave us joy............Our latest was hit and kept locked up in her cage because the "people" just didn't have time for her. Didn't even feed her half the time. I'd like to be alone with them in an empty room for just 5 minutes......................

Besides, she doesn’t have much more room in her little bitty 680 sq/ft condo.
    Plus she has a cat.

We got one of our dogs a few years back from the pound. He was a 12 year old German Shepherd that weighed 115 lbs. His name was Bosco, he was AMAZING and a great dog. No one wanted him because of his age. We had him for a good 2 years. His original passed away and he was then living in a car with the new owner who ending up surrendering him to pound. Bosco fit in great with our other Shepherd.

Damn, 115 lbs. That's a big shepard..... I want one. Might need a bobcat to clean up after it but still.

We had rescue Labs back in my single days and many years after matrimonial bliss but in recent years we've stuck with smaller dogs. Currently a mini-Schnauzer. Great dog. It's the dog we were never gonna have another dog, dog. Always wanted a Rottweiler but wife always rolls her eyes at the mention of one.

One of our daughters’ friend’s family fosters labs. They are incredibly charming and lovable dogs.
