    Default P9 Flush fit magazine?

I've been active in the P45 flush fit mag thread, but now I'm also getting a P9.

Same query: Has anyone found a flush fit mag (Officers 1911 9mm?) that will work reliably in the Kahr P9?

Again, it is absurd that the company won't make a flush fit mag for a gun touted as one of the most concealable.

    Thanks!

I usually run the flush fit magazine baseplates from pm9/mk9 on 7 round mags and it works great for me.

Years ago I ordered a metal flush fit baseplate from Kahr for one of my CW9 factory magazines.

I have those too, but thought maybe he’s looking for truly flush - no gap - because I’ve seen others post complaints about the Kahr “gap” (which bugs me not a whit and in fact I’ve heard described as an intentional design feature to provide a means to yank a jammed magazine in an emergency). I can understand folks preferring the common, modern-day “integrated/invisible” look, but *shrug*

My main point about a flush mag is that most companies advertising a gun with max concealability as a big selling point (like Kahr) have flush mags. Not necessarily airtight, see nothing "flush", but a basic bottom of mag matches bottom of grip without pinkie rests and without adding substantial length.

Yes, I would prefer at least one mag base fit perfectly flat like those on my little Colt Government .380:

A trick that others on this forum have done is to hide that gap with an o-ring. It works, as long as you don't get one that's too big in OD and has the right size in ID to be a snug fit.

I don't see any disadvantage in concealment with the mags the way they are, and I've been carrying them for almost as long as Kahrs have been on the market. That little bit it sticks out isn't even a factor in printing when I'm trying to see how much I can make it print. In fact, the protruding mag is an advantage when doing quick reloads for obvious reasons. Accordingly, I would not use anything to fill that gap, as it may interfere with reloads. The same applies to other pistols AFAIC. It's function over form, because it works.

BTW, I recommend replacing the plastic bases with steel. I have had one of those plastic bases on a K9 mag break and dump the contents.

Is there a steel base plate made for these mags? Or does generic work? The only steel plates I'm familiar with are all welded, like 1911 and Hi-Powers.

    Sure is a good looking.380.

You still got the box? I still have mine from back in the 1980’s but what is so funny is the cutout in the foam that the gun sits in looks like they dug the hole out with a spoon.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.
